About a week or so ago Kat(i)e was quoted as saying how much she was enjoying being a mother and that she was ready to start working on a second one. Come on no one that has just given birth wants to have another baby that soon or even working on one. They need to produce the first one before they start a second. The sad thing is that if something did happen to the baby or if there was a birth defect the American people would have embraced them and he would have gotten more/better publicity than he is getting now. Think of all the good he could do for a birth defect cause if they would admit it. He could follow in the foot steps of Michael J Fox and the positive things he has been able to do.

Is it just me or is there something "off" about Katie(Kate) Holmes' Stretch Marks?

I thought that a womans belly stretch marks usually were up and down. At least mine are. I have never seen someone's zig zag "across" their belly.

What pictures of Jett are you talking about? And what, in a picture, makes you think he has autism? It's been awhile, since I've seen a picture of Jett and I couldn't find any good ones on a search just now. I've always thought he looks just like his dad.


There's no proof that he has autism. How old is he now, 14? I've only heard the rumor of autism in the last few days.

i dunno how to post a pic - but it was several pages back of JT and KP holding him in between them. It is very subtle - and I am no expert, but just having worked around children that have been diagnosed for years , the pic just looks like it would be possible.

Anyway, if this is the Suri Challenge, maybe you guys should start a pool as to when a picture is actually going to surface. Can't bet money but since I know one of the Tag Fairies and have some embarrassing dirt on them, I can probably promise a nifty "Winner of The Suri Challenge" tag for the person with the closest guess.

On top of that why on earth would she sit there letting someone take a picture of her belly like that? I mean the photographer would have had to have been squatting down right next to her to get that shot. You gonna tell me she didn't notice that they were trying to take a picture up her shirt?

Coming into this thread very late just to make a comment about John Travolta & his son. I thought I read somewhere - quite a while ago - that there was suspicion that his son was autistic. I also remember hearing something about John Travolta being suspect of having Asperger's - Bill Gates is also on the list of suspected Asperger's adults. I have no idea where I read/heard these things, but they are in my head nonetheless! My ds11 is an aspie so I tend to listen more closely when I hear things about it. I remember the fact that JT has such a love for airplanes and aspies tend to focus on things like that, among other things of course.

I heard that a long time ago, even before Cruise went off the deep end. I'm thinking it was around the time of the Lisa McPherson trial - basically a woman died at the Clearwater Scientology center and her parents took Scientology to court for wrongful death - about 5-10 years ago.

At the daycare my DS goes to, one of the little ones has kawasakis. (sp?) It is a blood disorder and from what they said prety rare. It isn't contageous but he will have to live with the effects for life. I don't know what they symptoms are, but he was in the hospital for at least a week, maybe 2. He looks and acts normal, not autistic at all.

Oh, and those strech marks? They look believable to me, that is the only thing that makes me thing she was preggers. Mine are all over like that!

Where are our medical DIS'ers? I could swear that some of my kids have had Kawasaki before....I thought it was something like Hand-Foot-and Mouth disease and that it was no big deal at all.

It is similar to hand-foot-and-mouth because it can affect those areas (including peeling off of long sheets of skin on the hands and feet). It also involves a high fever, a body rash and severley chapped mouth and lips. If it's not treated, it can eventually cause heart damage. I don't think they have found a definite cause of it, but it has been linked to small children crawling on recently shampooed carpeting. Here's a link to more information.

The Travoltas have been on TV and other media, saying that their son has Kawasaki syndrome (here's an article that talks about it).

The question of autism in their son Jett isn't new, it's just been in the media recently because John Travolta's brother Joey has recently produced a movie about autism and he has been involved in autism-related organizations for a while. Here's an article from 2003 that mentions the possibility of autism.
Also, there are few pictures of either of the Travola children, but there are some within the past year when Ella Bleu (their daughter) attended the premier of Sky High. There are even fewer pictures of their son, Jett, one is the one someone posted previously (which is also in this article from I think 2002). The pictures of him in the article are much older pictures, because he was 10 at the time of the article. And then there is a series of pictures taken at an airport in 2000 (when he would have been 8 if he's 14 now) that show him hiding his face with a coat and working his way up to having his dad carry him (not common behavior for an 8 year old). You can see those pictures by going to www.gettyimages.com . Click on the link for "editorial" on the left hand side of the page and then when the search box comes up, look for ella bleu. You will find some of the series of pictures if you search for Jett, but more of them come up with his sister's name.
