Matterhorn hiya,

Well, I was the lady who asked about the ride the "matterhorn". And you stated it was your favorite ride. So of course since my fellow Diser suggested I ride it. It was on my to do list of rides. Well, after a hard day of work, I came in took a shower, and I was about to drift off, when  .Yup, I got an idea to look up the "matterhorn" on youtube.com. OMG!!! That ride looks like so much fun!! I will be nervous. Because it does look like it whips around really fast. But, I am hoping to brave it. One part of the ride looks as though you can fly right off the mountain.lol . Now, I am so looking forward to this!!

I have one side question. On the indy ride. Are there any steep drops? I was trying to look at that ride also on youtube, but it was so dark.. Thanks Matterhorn. Our trips are coming up soon. I know you will be there just a few short days after me. I cant believe we are less than 2 months Yipee!!

Hi again! Yes I remember posting to you, how are you? Yes it's getting closer, I cannot wait!! Matterhorn is a little jerky (the ride, not me!!) but not too bad. You must brave it atleast once!!

Indy has no steep drops at all, one slight one where the ride vehicle goes down but I dont' know that you can even call it a drop and I can't tell you too much because it's my favorite part and I don't want to ruin it for you!

Have a great trip, I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!

The Matterhorn is a little jerky/bumpy, but manageable. Indy only has one instance where the jeep goes down a steep hill, but the motion is not the same sensation as if a roller coaster were going down a steep hill. Your stomach doesn't get that same feeling.

The Matterhorn is one of my favorite rides, especially at night. I think I have a link to a video clip I did while on the ride in my signature.

Indiana Jones is more like an adventure attraction than any type of coaster ride. You go over a bridge and down some "stairs" but there are no loops or dips like you would find on a coaster. :)

well, both rides have their uniquesness. for one, Indiana Jones uses Hydrolics to the max to make the ride insanely bumpy.

while matterhorn is just a freefall on a very rocky track with acclerators.

My 3 yr old wanted to know if the ride vehicles for Indy in DL and Dinosauer in WDW are the same???? They do look very similar.

I adore the Matterhorn! It's not a scary ride at all -- but is quite fast! DH and I truly believe that it goes faster at night. Maybe we're crazy, but the ride does seem wilder in the dark!

Yes, I believe they are the exact same vehicle! Does he like Dinosaur? My kids weren't tall enough for Indy until about 5, he must be very tall!!

Oh my goodness what a smart little one to notice that! :teacher: Wow! Yep, they are the same thing and if i remember right about the same track. Very similiar ride.

I believe Dinosaur's height requirement is 40", while Indy's is 46". I don't know why :confused3

Okay that explains a lot! I was like HOLY COW, my three year olds weren't even close to 46" to ride Indy!!!

Indy is a pretty jerky ride, that's probably why. DH and DS6 went on it first, and when it was my turn (baby swap), DH wasn't sure he wanted DS6 to go on it; he said he really had to hold onto DS6 to keep him from crashing around in the seat too much.

We decided to go anyway, and I had a death grip on poor DS6's opposite thigh (so my arm was across his body.) He did bump into my arm quite a bit, but he and I were both squealing with thrills and chills, so I definitely recommend it! I'm a bit of a chicken, but this ride was THRILLING! I couldn't wait to go back on!

I agree! But what we can't figure out is why Dinosaur which is pretty much the same exact ride at WDW has a lower height requirement? Weird huh?
