Oh jeeze, another GAC question? (DL specific)

Just a quick question about whether or not there have been any changes to the way DL deals with GACs in the last 6 months. We've taken our autistic DS there 3 times and are about to head there for a kinda last minute trip there in a few weeks but I was wondering about any actual (not rumoured) changes.

Has anyone been recently and noticed any changes, specifically how ASD kids were handled? When we were there in April and went to ride RSR, we were given a return time which worked well for DS, he knew when we were going to be able to ride, are there any other rides that do that with GACs?

I've read the FAQ thread and all the threads here but most of them were WDW specific.

TIA and if someone is not comfortable posting, please pm me.

Mods, please delete this if you feel that it is a beating a dead horse kind of thread. :thanks:

I believe it has been reported there is more use of the "return time" handwritten Fastpasses being utilized at various attractions. I also think they are requiring guests to obtain a new GAC more often - I forget if it's daily or weekly or something similarly short-term.

Hopefully someone with recent DL experience will chime in.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks, that's good info to have! We can prep DS about this and as long as he knows what to expect, things go smoothly.

Well, all except Roger Rabbit...it does not matter if there is NO ONE in line, he loves the ride but FREAKS out going through the regular line, for some reason it terrifies him so we always have to go through the exit.

No clue why that one scares him so much, especially since it is his absolute favourite ride.

From what I have heard, both WDW and DL are not expected to 'go live' with any changes to GACs until October.

The most likely rumored change for either WDW or DL is more use of return times.

Toy story midway mania will also do return passes in some situations. Those are the only two I know for sure do.

Thanks Sue and KerBear!

This is our 4th trip with DS and the 4th time I have stressed about getting and using the GAC for him. I have no idea why, the process of getting one every time is pretty smooth and we only use it when we really need to, but every time I go through the same stress fest!
