My fellow Canadians :lmao:

I am usually on the DL side of the boards but we were thinking of branching out and heading over to WDW this time. However, I've only been there once, when I was six and don't remember much.

My real questions are:

1. what would make me want to visit WDW over DL?
2. How much planning am I in for? Will it make me :surfweb:
3. How long in advance do I need to start planning said trip?
4. Who else hates that the dollar is so crappy right now? :rotfl:

Thanks

Miko

I'm kinda biased as I've never been to DL but I love WDW!

WDW although spread into 4 parks is awesome. I love how each park is a little more geared to the theming.

It took me a year to plan, although I am a bit obsessive in that area and in the end we didn't do all I planned. I did alot of research and reading on these boards to gain all the info I wanted. I was also emailed a great planning tool from a fantastic member (pm me if you'd like it)

and the dollar sucks this year so we're going to travel in our own country and try to help our own economy recover first.

Hope some of that helps you a bit. Happy planning!

We have been going to WDW over DL recently because the airfare is less to MCO vs LAX from Edmonton. ???
We like the free and easy transportation, ME, to the resorts at WDW.
We prefer the hotels at WDW, they are more like resorts.
WDW has way more dining options. I think some people go just to eat.
In most cases we prefer the rides at DL.
We like being able to walk anywhere we want to go at DL. While the bus service is good at WDW it adds a lot of travel time to your day.
1. WDW if you are looking to spend more time. With the four parks and other activities available I think you need 7-10 days to do WDW comfortably.
2. With the distances between parks you do need to plan your trip. Also if you want a TS meal you need to make ADRs. Planning this to coordinate with your park plans and transportation is an exercise.
3. Early enough to plan and book your dining, 90 days from start of trip.

Our preference is actually DL but for a longer trip or an all adult trip WDW has advantages.

On past trips, we've had our bus drivers at WDW tell us that Disneyland park can fit in the Magic Kingdom parking lot - I guess that means that with four parks, there is a lot more to see and do at WDW:thumbsup2
The planning is just plain fun, and these boards are priceless to help you get there. Lots of codes or deals to be found, lots of places to choose from to stay and eat - you won't regret going to WDW, and you probably won't want to go back to DL afterwards. Give it a try, you won't be sorry!:goodvibes

Oh, I'll always go back! DL is were Walt Disney himself walked around, and that to me is something magical in itself!
