 I just spent a lot of $ for plane tickets from boston to orlando. Oh well I guess its not so bad because we saved $750 with the free dining. At least now I dont have to worry about them. But the price still makes me sick. :sad2:

It was jet blue sep.23 to oct.1 nonstop $287 a piece 4 tickets. There were no cheaper tickets for the times we wanted.

Sorry forgot to say out of boston.

Ooooh...

I almost don't want to post this, but I just checked AirTran out of Boston to Orlando for your dates and the total cost was $213 pp. After taxes, I think it's probably only $120 difference, but....

I live in CT and usually fly out of Hartford, but we might fly out of Boston if I can't find a cheap DING fare for our summer dates out of Hartford.

Good luck to you and enjoy your trip!

As I said my flights are non stop airtran is not, so you really cant compare the two. I only fly nonstop. I cant handle more than one take off and landing. As you can tell I am a little scared to fly :guilty: Oh well at least I got the tickets and we are all sitting together. I knew I had to buy now before the prices go sky high from the gas. We usually fly delta but with all thats going on with them I didnt dare, and I have only heard good things about jet blue. Cant wait till sept. By the way do you know if jetblue has online checkin or do you have to do it at the airport? Thanks all. Have fun on your trips.

The good news is that if and when the Fall Fare Sale comes out, you'll be able to get a credit for future use with Jet Blue. I wouldn't have worried about Delta though. They've been through this so many times before and they've always come out okay. I actually think that once the contract is settled, they are going to have to have a really good sale to win back the customers that might have chosen other airlines in the interim.

No because I did check sept 2-10 with sw which is also a sat to sun because the price will probably be close to the price for my dates and it was only like $20 cheaper per ticket with no assigned seats. I couldnt handle the flight without sitting next to my husband. So now for an extra around $80 I know I will be sitting with my family and not have to fight 200 people for seats together. It does seem to me sw is holding out on the dates because all the airlines are supposed to go way up may 1 so now they will get the higher prices for after sept 12. Just my opinion though.

This is true. A perfect excuse for another trip :teeth: Delta also was only about $10 cheaper but jetblue times were better. I couldnt chance waiting for a sale but then not getting seats together.

You probably already know this, but you can go online on jetblue's site and print out the direct tv listing. Also, if there are any movies you want to watch you can find out what they are. (there is a nominal fee for the movies)

I would rather pay a little more money for non stop & the tv's are awesome... (not to mention they are all newer planes!)

I also just purchased our tickets; yesterday in fact. I also ONLY fly non-stop, I cannot stand any layovers or more take off's or landings. To compare flights with stops vs. non-stop is comparing apples and oranges.

We paid $304.10 pp, non-stop out of Denver to MCO. The least we've ever paid was $241.00.so $60.00 more is not so bad imo.

Check this out. Our flights to MCO leave 8:30am, we arrive MCO 2:25pm (2hr+ time difference). If we were to take another carrier, we would leave 1 hour earlier, and get to MCO @ 5:20 pm, nearly an additional 4 hours!! No thanks! I don't care how much more the non-stop flights are, they are worth their weight in gold!!

I feel so good knowing I'm not playing chicken, and I've got the seats. Best news is, that if airfares go down (highly unlikely) I can get the difference in a travel voucher..works for me!

LOL you guys are spoiled:) I'm hoping to get flights for under $650US return Edmonton Canada to MCO. I have to buy 4 so that is a big cost:(

The new "reality" of the airlines flying out of Boston to Orlando seems to be $200+ roundtrip with a lot less capacity reducing the number of sales they need to have to sell seats. I'm hoping for a fare sale for a August 5th flight from MCO to Boston, but nothing has shown up yet. Even SWA out of BDL and PVD are $122 each way as of right now. Delta is $129 and JB $157.

It sure was easy to get spoiled by the overcapacity and $60 each way fares :(

Good point BigTigger. We really have to recalibrate our expectations. We've been paying far less for airline travel than it has been worth, and those days are ending.

There is a very good chance we are on the same flights..lol
Those are our travel dates also out of Logan on JETBLUE.

Just to let you know, If you are not already doing this check your airfare everyday in the morning if you can.

When I made my JetBlue ressies flying Bos-Or was $89 and return was $139. A few days after the return dropped to $89 and I called Blue and they credited me the difference for future travel. Since then the prices have been in flux, with both going and return bounce up and down but never lower then $89 each way. Right now Bos-Orl is $154 and return is $134. I check each day and plug any changes into a spread sheet( just for fun, it was changing so much I thought it would be fun to see what it did over the course of a few months) If you cannot check it every day, feel free to send me a pm and I will give you a heads up if it changes. It is important to jump right on it the day it changes because it usually only last a day or two.

Good Luck and enjoy your trip

Quoting this because it's worth saying again.

I'm already figuring and budgeting our flights for next February from BOS-RSW to be around $300 R/T, and will be thrilled if I can stay at or below that figure.

To the OP--especially for you folks who don't enjoy flying, I think you will LOVE JetBlue. The TVs make the time go so fast. I spent over 2 hours watching 80s videos. It was AWESOME.
