Been at Port Orleans Riverside for a week and about a day or so the entitled ones arrived at my building. My first clue was when I started noticing chair hogs everywhere. At the food court, it was hard to find a table with a chair. Why? Because people took the chairs to their own tables. Of course they never returned the chairs to their rightful place.

Then, I noticed 2 patio chairs outside of a room. Did somebody bring their own chairs from home? NOPE! They snatched 2 chairs from the quiet pool to keep outside of their room. When returning to the building today, I noticed 6 chairs and 6 people sitting outside of these 2 rooms. These families were having a great time talking and laughing and blocking the steps and the walkway to the stairs. When I tried to get past them I got evil stares as if I was intruding on their territory.

Since you cannot talk to these people, I called the front desk and informed them that these people were being noisy and creating a safety hazard. We'll see what happens.

Oh but i paid alot for this room so who cares...... Disney wont say anything if they want me to come back.

Sometimes i just wanna smack em upside their hollow heads...

LMAO!! Funny!

Thats really annoying, i feel your pain. I'd probably complain as well as blocking the hallway is most definitely a safety hazard.

hey at least they are staying at POR - are you sure they are?

stayed at CBR back when it was new - and these same type were in the pool next to my room. When I tried to get in - they say it was a private party and I would have to go elsewhere.

Say I was going to call the front desk - because was not told - they all left - about 10 people - got in their cars and left.

yes some people will definitely take advantageous - or push as hard as they can push.

so sorry you are being put thru this - maybe POR can move you. You know they won't move the trouble makers - but you might be happier some place else.

This has been our experience with the moderates,we stayed at POFQ once in July and the people congregating outside our for to smoke was very annoying. We would see food on window ledges and crushed cigarettes on the walkways. CSR was for our arrival night and there were people congregating like you mentioned in the hallways

Definitely call the front desk. We had the same situation a few years ago at POFQ (wonder if they are the same people).

I complained when we left the resort, after putting up with it for a week. I remember the desk clerk's answer - "You should have called us. It's your vacation also. You should not have to put up with that at all."

Call the front desk again. Go to visit the front desk. Someone will help you. They are great at that resort. ::yes::

Just recently read a story like this about the Kidani pool - a guest upon entering was told by a child "This is a private party for our family."

Unless you paid Disney a bunch of cash to block off the pool it does not belong to you.

Take pictures! That'll really piss them off! And if they ask you what you're doing...tell them your Dis friends need to know what they look like...

Then take the pictures to the front desk! Make sure to include the room number!

That's when you say "do I need to call the front desk to confirm this?"

Wow! I've never had this stuff happen to me during my mod stays. But it wouldn't happen twice.

I am always in my good mood mode at WDW, and I manage to ignore the folks who cut in lines or don't move all the way across at the 3D movies.....

But, I wouldn't hesitate to speak up if anyone tried to infringe on my enjoyment of the resort I'm staying at.

the ones that gave me problem - were not even staying at WDW. they were either staying offsite or were locals....

besides I can pool hop! being a DVC member does have a few little advantages.

definitely go to the front desk - if you call you don't always get the real front desk - sometimes you get those people in another county (disney saving a dime)

so go to the front desk - if the CM can't help you - then ask for the manager.

they will move you - not the trouble makers.

When I left to go to dinner, the people were gone, but the 2 chairs from the quiet pool remained. I'm just glad this happened the day before I go home.

On a different note, it pleases me that so far, nobody has defended this behavior yet.

I'm afraid they may say, "no need to confirm."
I would say.. "Let me ask the resort general manager to check if there are other group parties going on. Oh by the way, what is the name of your group? :)"

I'm the same way. I get easily annoyed with people who don't follow the rules but I usually try to ignore it and move on...but if you're being absolutely obnoxious or deliberately being a jerk I'll let you know and I'll let an employee know!

Sort of reminds me of those gross people a few years ago putting their feet in Cindy's fountain!

You should totally go move them back to the pool! :rotfl2:

If I was staying near the chair people hogging the walkway, I would make sure to go by on my scooter every time and make them move. If the chairs were there but they weren't, I would call the front desk and complain that the chairs were obstructing my emergency escape route.
