Oh how I HATE hurtful words!!!

So I am not perfect, I have many flaws, I make mistakes, but I can honestly say I give 110% at my job. So why is it when I get an email that tells me I am not doing my job, hurts so much. The information was given to this person through another person and it is not correct. If I reply, it will still not be understood...I know this from past experience.

Just needed to vent and I guess I need to just suck it up....

Can you reply in a factual, non-defensive manner just so they know the truth? Even if they don't understand it, it might make you feel better to get it off your chest. Can you confront the third party? If so, do it.

They're only "words".. Look at all the hurtful, mean things that are said right here on the CB.. If you know in your heart that these things aren't true - and you know that you are only human, yet doing the best that you can at your job - you have to try harder to "tune it all out".. I know it's hard - but it can be done..

If it's an issue that you feel will be brought to the attention of one of your superiors, bypass the "middleman" and take it up directly with the person in charge.. More often than not, the person "in the middle" is just someone who is trying to start trouble for one reason or another..

I'm so sorry that your feelings got hurt and you're upset.. Hopefully by tomorrow the "sting" will have worn off..

Words only have the power you give them. No words can offend or hurt me because I don't give them the power. The way I view myself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or any other adverb you can think of comes from me and no one else. If someone's opinion of any of those aspect of me differ from the one I give myself I know it is merely their opinion and not fact. Anyone can think or say what they want and they are entitled to their opinion but I don't let it effect me. If on the other hand what they say is factually true it just is what it is. I can either accept them or change them.

This has helped me live a happy life and I think you would find the same.
