Oh, help! I can't play!

I downloaded the Shockwave, but when I click on "Enter Game" to set up my character and play, it just won't go anywhere.

I've had my laptop for almost a year and haven't ever had any other problem.

I wanna play!

Why can't I?

A lot more information would have to be given for me to make a better guess. However if you can not get to the logon screen from the home page my first hunch is that either you do not have java installed or you have javascript blocked.

I was able to enter all my info, but when I went to get in everything turned black.

How do you get this Java thing? Would my Norton Antivirus block it? I'm assuming if everyone else has it that it wouldn't get blocked by Norton, because you all don't have a virus...

I would give you more info, but I don't know what is wrong. I really appreciate the help.

Update:

We took all the time to do the quests and sign up at the Magic Kingdom, where they told us to get Shockwave to avoid the black screen. Now we are home again and I did that, only to still have a black screen!
