Oh, Great, Mom's on her Disney kick again - 1st time ptr

I realized I never posted my day 2 for Epcot. I know most of you commented that day 1 is a little packed, and I realize that my be true, so we have day 2 open to fill in with what we may have missed. These are definitely tenative plans. When we can finally reveal to our kids how soon we are really going (Christmas) we are going to allow them to plan our days, how's that for adventurous? With guidance of course, but I thought it would be fun to lay out the maps after they put together their lists of must see's and help make the actual itineraries.

So with that said here's my plan for Day 2

Be at bus stop by 8am
Rope drop 9am, be to the left side of Innoventions (East)
Mission Space FP while enroute to Test Track
Test Track,
Mission Space if it's time
Innoventions/Character Spot/Station Cool
Kim Possible Mission
Lunch- Mexico? China?
Tour World Showcase and hit kidcot stations
Dinner at Teppan Edo 7pm
Finish touring (Illuminations if missed it first night)
Back to resort at close.

We only have one day here, and I want to do a lot, so we'll see how it pans out. I am not rigid in my plans, this is basically just an order of rides to hit, if we skip one or 2 that's fine, if we eat sooner that's fine too. Now when hubby and I were there for our honeymoon, with no kids in tow, we were able to hit everything we wanted and have lots of time leftover. When we went with my inlaws and the kids we were able to hit 70% of what we wanted, so we'll see how this goes.

8am- Bus Stop
9am- Rope Drop, be to the right side, do not follow sunset blvd crowd
Toy Story Mania FP and ride
Rock N Roller Coaster/FP if needed
Tower of Terror/FP if needed.
Magic of Disney Animation
Playhouse Disney Live, not sure if the big kids will do this though
Lunch
Beauty & The Beast Live
Muppet Vision 3d
Honey I shrunk the kids
Lights Motors Action or Indiana Jones, it's up to the boys
The Great Movie Ride
5:50Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe
Back to Resort

I forgot to add, that we want to make a point to see CARS, Monster's Inc, Toy Story and Incredibles characters.

Your Epcot day two sounds good. I think I would get the fast pass for test track. Mission space wasn't really that busy when we went in March this year. Your Hollywood studios plan sounds busy. We didn't have a touring plan when we went for that day though... crazy right?
We seen some characters
Then grabbed Fast passes for Toy story
Went and watched the first Muppets showing
Explored the streets of America for a bit
Used the Fast Passes for Toy Story
Went for an early lunch at the place with the giant cupcakes
Watched the street performers for a while
Beauty and the Beast
Tower of Terror
Got fast passes for RRcoaster
Went to the Animation studio and met all the characters
Watched High School Musical
Watched some of the cheer competitions that were in the Indiana Jones theater.
Tried to use the Fast passes for RR but it was down.
We left around 5 that day. My favorite part of Hollywood studios is the Street Performers. I love them. I could watch them for hours if my family would let me. lol

Every day update. We had a great Thanksgiving. Had dinner at my parent's house with my mom's family. It was us 6, my parents, 2 aunts and a few cousins. Neither of my brother's were able to come, that was kind of a bummer.

Then that night we headed out shopping at 9pm, yes we started our black friday shopping at 9 on Thanksgiving day. We had to stop at noon on Friday, we were just too tired to go on, and out of money by that point.

We did get a lot of good deals. We have our gps now, for our trip. We got the kids a portable dvd player, so now we have 2, I figure one for the middle seats, and one for the back seats. Plus we have our laptop if needed. We got the kids a few new DS games, so that should help with time as well. Got Alli our youngest a color wonder gift pack, so that should help keep her entertained for the drive as well. Bought kenzie a Nikon CoolPix camera, a little nervous, she is only 11 and not the most responsible with her stuff, but I am telling her this is it, she ruins it or loses it I will not buy her another camera. I want her to be able to take pics in Disney, she is really good at taking pics and I love seeing her perspective of things, and this way maybe I'll be in a few pics ;)

We have not been talking disney at all but the second the kids saw the gps they went crazy talking about it. I just changed the subject. I have been looking for some cute disney wrapping paper for the big gift, and still brainstorming ideas on what to do for the gift. not sure yet.

I think your Epcot Day 2 plans sound great (really manageable). If you plan on doing the kidcot stations, I would look into doing the Passports for your older kids. They're relatively inexpensive or you could make your own. My mom and I did it in June and it was a lot of fun. Each of the countries write a message in their native language.

Hollywood Studios sounds good too! The only suggestion I have is riding GMR a little earlier. Maybe right after TSM? The line gets longer as the day goes by whereas there's usually no line first thing in the morning. Plus, you should still be able to get over to ToT and RnRC pretty early. :thumbsup2

I'm leaving for my trip tomorrow morning so I'll MIA for a little but I'll be back to get caught up as soon as I return! Oh, and congrats on the promotion!

So only 73 days left, I can't believe how fast it's going. 71 days until we leave. I am putting in my vacation slip the end of this week. I didnt' want to do it too early, I am sure it will still get lost and forgotten about, but once it's signed it's not my responsibility anymore. I have a feeling with my new job responsibilities I am so going to need this vacation more than ever before.

Later today I hope to get my Magic Kingdom plans up here.

Hi Tavia, :goodvibes
I couldn't resist and had to hop over here from my pre-trip report!
You have a beautiful family. I haven't had time to read everything, I only read the first page and will go back later tonight and read the rest, but just wanted to let you know that I am along for the ride! :woohoo:

:( I think I may have lost all my readers :( I sure hope not. I was hoping to post my MK itineraries this week, I have them ready for the most part.

I was so excited this weekend. Dan and I took a roadtrip with no kids down to his great Aunts, and I accidentally mentioned something about disney and I apologized for it. He was asking why I was apologizing and I told him I stopped talking Disney over a month ago because he didn't want to hear it, was afraid it wouldn't happen.

He said he wants to start talking disney again, and look at things online and plan and talk. YAY, I can be freed from my chains. I will be paying off the marjority of our trip this week. Our final payment is due a few days after Christmas but my goal is to have it paid before Christmas.

This feels so good, last time we went we took a loan out and this time we are paying for it up front. It's awesome.

Still here and can't wait to see what you have planned for MK. I'm sure they are packed with fun. Your trip is so soon. I am so jealous. Once x-mas is over your trip will be here before you know it.

:yay:Your DH wants to talk about Disney.

I am still reading! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: for a husband who wants to talk Disney!!!!!!! (Is there anything else to talk about? :lmao:)

I'm all ears for your MK planning - can't wait! popcorn::

:sad:A little off topic here but then again not so much. We got our holiday bonuses from work. After I deposited them along with some other extras I had enough to pay off our vacation a few weeks early. Then I get the call. Last night I was grocery shopping and my hubby left me there to go get our daughter. It was nasty out and he slid and hit a curb. It was rough driving home, but we made it. Thinking it was just an alignment I got a call that we needed to have the right control arm replaced, an alignment and tire rotation. About 4 times what we thought it would cost. Then I get another call and come to find out the place we got our tires from last year, jacked us. They put 2 different size tires on. What???? Yeah so he recommends we get new tires soon, we planned on it before our trip but not this soon. I am so annoyed. So much for paying off the trip early, now we may not even be able to pay it off by the due date. We WILL still go, it WILL happen. We have worked way too hard for this.

I'm sorry to hear about your car trouble. This sounds like something that would happen to me. Try not to worry too much. Just be glad everyone is safe and you are still going to be able to go to Disney. :thumbsup2

I am beginning to go crazy. I am so excited about our trip, it's less than 2 months out. I was still able to pay a good chunk even though our van cost us some extra. From the looks of it, we should be able to pay off our trip next week, before Christmas which has been my goal all along.

Now I need some help. I need ideas of things to buy for the kids for Christmas. Ok let me be a tad more specific. I want to make a special Disney box for the kids. now if you remember they know we are going to Disney in 2011, they have no idea how soon it is. We want to get them some Disney related things, things for the drive, things they can use on the trip, but things that are not expensive. For example, the girls have a pearl cage/necklace coming to each of them for the pick a pearl, I ordered the Birnbaum's Disney for kids book. What are some other little ideas that would help lead them to the idea? I wanted to include something that says we are going in February, not sure how to do that though?

So did the new parts for the car result from the 2 different sized tires? I would go back to the tire palce and let them know they put to wrong sized tires on. At least they should replace those, and if the other damage resulted fro mthat, they should be responsilbe. Give them heck!

No unfortunately the tires had nothing to do with the part that was damaged that was purely from him sliding into the curb.

:banana:Doing the 50 day dance here. Woo Hoo!!!! Ok so we still haven't paid off the vacation but we owe 200 bucks or so, not worried, should have it paid next week for sure. I am getting so giddy and excited. So wanna hear what I did? If not then I guess close this page. :lmao:

So I got this bright idea last week at work. I was working on making my kids their own personalized autograph books, but was running out of time. I decided instead of trying to print it at work and finding a way to bind it to just upload them as pics to snapfish and do 5x7 books. I did that, worked on it til late on Friday. Got home worked on it some more then put them in the cart and realized it was going to be 131.00 :scared1: Hokey Petes. So I decided it wasn't going to happen, until I looked and saw a code on their website for 67% off photo books and free upgraded shipping. It expired at midnight on the 17th, it was about 11:50pm, so I had to hurry, but I made it just in time. So now I have these hopefully awesome autgraph books to put in my kids disney gift box for Christmas. YAY!!!! I also plan on getting them clickable sharpies, and a few other things. We also bought them 2 Disney planning books for kids, a big tube of glow necklaces to hopefully avoid the begging for stuff at night, and I am trying to come up with some more little things. The girl's pearl necklace cages are in there, so I have to come up with something little for the boys yet too. Any suggestions?

Ok another advice question. We were planning on driving our van down, saving money, and so on. There are some rather expensive repairs that need to be done before we go, such as 4 new tires, replacing a bad O2 sensor, and some smaller things. I have started considering renting a van now. It will be about 700.00 to rent a van, plus gas, plus hotel on the way down, which is only 60.00 already booked through family. Driving back we are staying with my brother and his fiance so no trouble there. What do you think? Do the repairs and put the miles on our van, or hold off (the O2 sensor is not necessary but for a long trip it would save tons on gas if we did it, however it will cost about 600 just for that) Or just rent a van and not have to worry about putting all those miles on ours?
