oh god no!

After our time in So. Cal. we'll be driving across country on a southern route. We'll be going right thru NM...so tell me, is there something great to do that we shouldn't miss?

Santa Fe New Mexico has the Loretto Chapel which is home to the miraculous staircase built with no visible means of support. Or, in Albuquerque there is the Sandia Peak Tramway which is supposidly the worlds longest aerial tram ride. It takes you up to the 10,000 foot peak of the Sandia Mountains. It makes for beautiful pics. I've heard lines are best in the morning, but dusk makes for the best pictures. I'm not sure what time of the year you'll be going through NM, but in early October there is the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. That is alot of fun, you watch balloon of all shapes inflate and take off. You get to go right on the field and are right next to all the balloons. It all starts around 5am. They also have balloon glows at night and are very pretty. Also, if you stop in Albuquerque you can go to Old Town which is historic Albuquerque which has a bunch of shops and Museums. There is also the petrohlyphs which is pretty popular. You can also buy chilly ristras different places in Albuquerque, they are very pretty to hang in your home. Also, a good place for lots of info on things to do in NM is tripadvisor. They have a foreum there that can give you lots more ideas on things to do. Hope this helps, and you have a great trip!!
