Oh god, another "magical enhancement"???

Yeah, why are they not doing everything in a test environment, perfecting it, and rolling it out without service interruption like hundreds of other companies do? This is such an old way of doing things, technology is way beyond this.
It's not the Disney way, never has been. Or if they do, they do it very badly.

Banks and credit card companies routinely go down for maintenance.

I was recently at Disney this past week, and the IT issues almost ruined our trip. I won't get into details but Trust me whatever they are doing is definitely necessary. I have to hand it to disney though, they handled it well and made up for our issues fairly. And made sure the rest of our trip was great.

Wow, just attempted what I needed to do again and noticed that it was still down again! This should be interesting to find out what is coming.

I was told it was systems changes, not product changes.

Same here, but I'm curious how it will interfere with the dining booking and other things like that, it kept crashing for the people booking these past 2 days for my December group of people...sooo it should be interesting if they fix those bugs.

It should just go back to normal when they're done doing whatever it is they're doing.

IME not as often as Disney and when banks say they'll be back running by X they're running by X.
Disney IT is notorious. I've only been working with it for three months and it's been down or messed up 6 times already that I can recall. By contrast, over the course of 5 years, my bank site has been down when I've tried to use it about the same number of times. I mean, I'm still taking my family to Disney and we will enjoy ourselves regardless, but I don't try to pretend this is somehow IT normative.

And that's what I'm agreeing with?

You know if Amazon and Ebay can operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without having to shut down for days at a time to "enhance" their systems, I'm pretty sure Disney could do it as well if they wanted to. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Customers are the testers. It's not like they're actually going to lose any business over it. Most companies would...but not Disney.
