It's got to be tough to plan a vacation and anticipate it for weeks & months only to have those plans swept away (literally). Here's hoping the hurricanes will prove the forecasters wrong!

The solution is simple. All we have to do is make the Earth spin in the opposite direction. Then the prevailing winds in the tropics would blow east, not west, and the tropical storms forming over the Atlantic would hit Africa rather than the Caribbean.

Of course I suppose the Africans would not be pleased.

Now, I'm no hurricane expert, living up here in Michigan and all, but I suspect a poncho is not the correct answer to the question of "what to do/wear in a HURRICANE".


Seems evacuation is the order of the day in the path of a hurricane, not rainwear and park touring..

The eye is not currently scheduled to make it to Orlando so I expect it will just be rain and wind that far inland.

We live in Palm Beach County. Gotta tell you, we are scared about this hurricane. We are ready though and should make it just fine. We are booked at VB for Thanksgiving and we are hoping that all works out well by then. We will need the break.
