Oh! Everything I wanted is booked....

The closest thing they have is the raised area up near the bar, which is where they usually put large groups. It's not enclosed, but I know a few people on this board have done group dining there and enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

Also, not to be a Pollyanna, but sometimes those convention groups do cancel, so if you book a Plan B, you can keep checking back about plan A.

Say - what about the outdoor balcony on the ... fifth floor, I think it is... of the Grand Floridian? I know of a group of 6 who had a dinner there arranged through Private Dining - maybe your planner could book it? And I think you can see some of Wishes from there!

hmmm...thats an idea...I would consider a balcony...what is the weather in Nov like?
I will definitely keep checking back to see if something that I want opens up...but WOW! all of the locations in the GF and Contemporary are booked...*sigh*

Anyone have any pictures of shulas?

What about wolf gang puck?

If you do an in-park location like a DP location in Epcot, I don't believe you can have the characters appear. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think I've read that in a few places.

Here is a peek at the room at Shula's - it's on the left as you first enter the restaurant:

Here are some pix of Wolfgang Puck's taken by FigmentFan. Now that I look at them, I think I remember that the prices for buying out this entire room, or even half, are pretty steep. But maybe FigmentFan will come along and tell us what they quoted her.

Yeah - she'd have to have the characters at the cake-cutting reception cuz they aren't allowed at the outdoor locations.

Well, we requested they make some of the things on Le Cellier's menu, and they did a good job, so.. yes!

OK, outside Epcot, small party, private event.... St. James Room and Patio at the BoardWalk? Kinda big... My fave is the Attic, and you can see fireworks from there, but the food and beverage minimum is $2,500 for dinner.

Then there are the non-Disney owned restaurants: Shulas, bluezoo, and Il Mulino all have private rooms. At Downtown Disney, Fulton's has private rooms and Raglan Road and Portabello have semi-private areas... How am I doin'? Getting close? :teeth:

Oh dear is St James Room too big for a small party!!! May be I will have to re-think!!

How about the other resorts??? AKL??? WL? Is Ariel's just a restaurant? Does the boardwalk only have larger rooms (Attic, Atlantic Dance Hall)

I'll post what I get back from my planner...:surfweb:

You could use just the patio area at St. James. There are pictures that show a small roman table and a buffet setup, they look really nice.

I've seen the St. James room and it's really not that big. It can fit a pretty decent number of people but even if it was just 10 people with a roman style table set up it would look quite nice.

Ariel's may not be available in November, you'd have to ask your planner. I was told when my initial date was December 20, 2010 that I couldn't book Ariel's because as of Sept 2010 dates were blacked out.

The private room in Jiko is gorgeous and $100/person for 10 people really isn't that much in the end.

Where is this St. James Room??? Remember...according to my planner everything at the GF and Contemporary is booked (how that is possible I do not know...but what ever...:confused3)

Good to know...and you're right $100/person isn't bad-but we have never eaten there and don't want to gamble on food... With that said...What does their menu look like???

Jiko is amazing, and even if you or your guests aren't super adventurous on food, there is something for everything. The flatbreads alone are great! And the filet is one of the best I've ever had. Don't let the mac and cheese fool you. It's gourmet, too. Oh, and our waiter was very helpful doubling as a sommelier. He made a very good wine recommendation.

If it was me, I would definitely do the dinner in fireworks in Epcot. That is what I really wanted, but wasn't allowed, because of the restrictions on Escape weddings.

what restrictions did you have with the escape wedding? I was able to do an epcot DP with my escape wedding.

It is at the boardwalk resort. I guess a convention booked all the rooms?

The food is AMAZING! And I'm sure you can build a menu with the restaurant that suits your tastes. We're adventurous and love different food. We had Ostrich the last time we ate there and it was delicious. But their flat breads are good and the filet with Mac and cheese is so yummy, I have dreams about it. Those two dishes aren't really too adventurous.

Hmmm...filet and mac and cheese...now that is a perfect meal!

Don't tell me there are restrictions for Escapes...I'll loose my mind! (If I havent already!!! :rotfl2:

I have a call with my planner scheduled at 2:30 today. I want to actually talk to her and not be caught in this email tag bit.:surfweb: I will definitely check into the St. James Room...
Now I want to try the mac & cheese :rotfl:

The mac and cheese is so good but what makes it better is that the filet is placed right in the middle and there's this red wine reduction surrounding it and the pasta. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I initially wanted a dinner in Epcot, but Escape brides can only do DP's. This was what the sales consultant told me back in September, and I am pretty sure it still holds up.

Stop you're making me hungry! I'm not sure how I would tell my boss that I can't come into work b/c I need to get to disney for dinner! :rotfl:

Like I said, I'll find out. With the new $7500 minimum for private events added to an Escape-I wonder if it does still hold :confused3
