....please help me plan my reception and DP!!!

So, emailed my WC to see where we are with things. I wanted the WP, Key West Ballroom and Sago Cay...The WP is available still. So, I'm good there.

Key West Ball Room and Sago Cay are booked for conventions. Oh well. They will probably make more money off of the convention then they will me anyway.:rotfl2:

So, DisBrides...Your mission...should you choose to accept it...is to suggest small locations/low food and bev min. for 10 people for both reception and DP. DH would like to see Wishes b/c he wants to use our photographer. (He loved the fireworks photos that he has seen here! :thumbsup2) Please include pictures if you have them.

Thanks! :yay:

Is the marina at the GF available? You could have both your reception and DP there? I saw pictures from the link that someone here posted from a wedding show (or cake show) and it looked really nice!

For the fireworks, what about a Grand Wishes cruise? I think you could fit the photographer on there, right? (you've probably thought of this, so forgive me, if you have).

I agree that the marina is a good suggestion, if available.

Or Morocco. I think that is a great DP site for small groups (but then you're restricted to DPS).

The only other fireworks thing I can think of is California Grill, if you rented out one of their rooms (Sonoma or Napa), you could walk out on the walkway to take pics.

For reception...if it's earlier in the day, Narcoossee's or Citrico's are nice. If it's later in the day (when the restaurant is open), you could do the Chef's Domaine (or whatever it is called at Citrico's) and/or the upper level at Narcoossee's. Or the Napa or Sonoma rooms at CG. Or there's lots of restaurants at DTD.

As sad as this sounds...I may have thought of some of these things eons ago-but I'm about 1.5 months into a new job and really just consumed by that...and the wedding thing is going to be booked at the end of the month! I knwo I know BAD DIS BRIDE!
Anything restricted by DPS (unless approved by DH b/c he REALLY wants our photographer) is out.
I did in fact forget about the wishes cruise...might be a good idea.
I will check on the the others you suggested too... I wouldn't mind the upper level of CG...Totally an option.
I'll add them to the list!
Thanks! :thumbsup2

The Napa or Sonoma rooms at CG have higher F&B minimums for dinner. I believe it's $3000+ for the Napa room after 6pm and you'd want it then because you want to see Wishes.

I also think the Marina at GF would be nice.

think the Chef's Domain at Citricos could be really nice and then you could have your photographer come back after the meal and do pictures on the beach with the fireworks. That's what we're doing with V&As Chef's Table though we're not having our photographer return.

What about the Whitehall Room, it's small and the F&B isn't so high compared to other locations and do a Wishes Cruise for the DP...

An update from my planner...the contemporary and the grand floridian are all booked!!!

The WP offered dinner and fireworks at EPCOT...Where can I eat and have a reception in EPCOT in my dress????:confused3

Ok lets here some more ideas!

If it was me, I would definitely do the dinner in fireworks in Epcot. That is what I really wanted, but wasn't allowed, because of the restrictions on Escape weddings. That is just my opinion though, do what makes you comfortable!

Is there anywhere else on the Boardwalk that you would consider...St. James, Ariels, Attic?

Yeah but where can I go to dinner in my dress in the park? :confused3

You can do it in the DP areas, although there may be restrictions as to which ones. Except I read you only have about 10 people? I wonder if you could do it in Japan? I know other people have actual meals at other locations, so I wonder if you could there? If not, there are a lot of cocktail style menus that I was sent that could easily be dinner (I am using one for my welcome party).

Do you really want a private meal....could you eat at one of the fancier restaurants and than go to the DP?

There are the illumination cruises as well. You could eat at Yachtsman/Flying Fish, etc, than board the pontoon?

Oh, and I think Heidi mentioned that Grand 1...I beleive they serve food now, (menu was on allearsnet) so that could be pretty cool!

DH and I are chatting about Grand 1...it might just be an option! :rotfl: *sigh* oh the things we do...I think if our time line goes wedding, pics, dinner, cake, mickey and minnie in there somewhere and then boat...at least we won't have a ton of left overs of all the goodies and I'll be a crazy lady waiting for the 90 day mark :lmao: Just serve warm beverages on the boat. It could work...I'm still looking for a dinner location...this is difficult...I know what I want...I know what feel I'm going for...ah...we will get there...

So, lets talk reception locations...
I'll take small venue
Low F & B min.
And one heck of a good meal....

Well, UK Pubside at Epcot fits 10 max and has a food and beverage minimum of only $220 (but the food would be made by Rose & Crown, so I can't guarantee a heck of a good meal :cutie:). Japan has a max of 10, too.

Can I get Le Cellier for food??? DH and I love LeCellier...this would make the meal!

Carrie...where else??? Even outside EPCOT????

Well, we requested they make some of the things on Le Cellier's menu, and they did a good job, so.. yes!

OK, outside Epcot, small party, private event.... St. James Room and Patio at the BoardWalk? Kinda big... My fave is the Attic, and you can see fireworks from there, but the food and beverage minimum is $2,500 for dinner.

Then there are the non-Disney owned restaurants: Shulas, bluezoo, and Il Mulino all have private rooms. At Downtown Disney, Fulton's has private rooms and Raglan Road and Portabello have semi-private areas... How am I doin'? Getting close? :teeth:

I would love the attic if it didn't come with such a hefty price tag...what the heck would I feed 10 people to get it to $2500!!! :confused3

I'm looking for elegant...that is why key west was perfect...*sigh* Time to find the new perfect...but that seems difficult with the lack of venue choices at the moment...Does Narcoosee's do private or semi-private areas?

The closest thing they have is the raised area up near the bar, which is where they usually put large groups. It's not enclosed, but I know a few people on this board have done group dining there and enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

Also, not to be a Pollyanna, but sometimes those convention groups do cancel, so if you book a Plan B, you can keep checking back about plan A.

Say - what about the outdoor balcony on the ... fifth floor, I think it is... of the Grand Floridian? I know of a group of 6 who had a dinner there arranged through Private Dining - maybe your planner could book it? And I think you can see some of Wishes from there!
