Oh Dis Doctors...

I had tiny blisters in my throat once when I had a virus. Felt like crap, went to an urgent care center, physician told me it was a viral syndrome and not a thing I or he could do about it, but it would be self-limiting. I only FELT like I was dying. Hope you feel better.

Well, I am not a medical professional but my Mom is and she is here watching the super bowl (grr...the fix is in!!). Her reluctant advice: she says go to the dr. in the AM, you likely have strep. She did say if you feel swelling in your throat that impacts your breathing, high spike fever (aka 102+) or stiffness in your neck you should go in to the ER asap. She emphasized that you need to go to the doctor though, so do that please as soon as you can! Hope this helps!

DD had her best friend over Thursday night. Her throat looked just like strep but no fever. Her mother took her to the doctor Friday morning and she did have thrush. Thank goodness, they now have medicine that doesn't give you a purple mouth.

Fever is gone but the blisters are still there. Still hurts to talk, eat and swallow, but more of a tongue rubbing against the tooth kind of hurt. I'm going with the viral thing for now, but if it doesn't get better by Wednesday, I'll head in to see the Dr. I don't think it's strep because the fever went away and I don't actually feel that bad except for the blister thing.

I've had strep without a fever.But hoping you don't have it!

I'm on my 3rd bout of Strep right now as I type this. First 2 I had no idea I had it. Sore throat but nothing really nasty. Couldn't see anything on the back of my throat either. Felt generally cruddy had a low grade fever only at night. In the AM it would go away. I felt yucky but could still function almost as though I was getting a cold. Finally I woke up one night throwing up and feeling like crap and lo and behold I had strep. This recurrence I had the typical strep symptoms. Wicked nasty sore throat, fever, white blisters on the back of my throat. I don't know why I can't seem to get rid of it but the antibiotics they gave me don't seem to be helping longer than about 5-7 days.

I sure hope I can get rid of it soon since my dh will be leaving me for a business trip on V-day and I do NOT do well alone! I don't sleep well and if I'm still sick that will just add insult to misery!!! I hate the few times he has to go and it's even worse when I'm sick.

I don't know how old you are, but if you are under 25, it's imperative to see a doctor to see if there is strep. If it is, and is untreated, it can cause Rheumatic fever and affect the heart. For some reason, once you are over 25, the risk of permanent heart damage due to this is lessened.

Could it be some sort of allergic reaction? It sounds similar to the symptoms I had a couple of years ago when I found out I was allergic to strawberries. Hope you are feeling better!!
