Oh dear I am wired...

Hubby and I both have colds. He is almost done with his, mine started a few days ago. Very icky congestion.

I took two sudafed(generic) pills yesterday at 8 am...then took another two ant five pm...this was before the stated twelve hours that it was supposed to last was up. I was feeling extra cloggy.

Anyway, get home from work at nine thirty, drink hot tea, take a hot bath, sit up and do my nails, had some theraflu...say at around eleven, I think.

Theraflu seemed to wear off after two hours. Every time I'd lay down, I'd get clogged again, so, at 1am (no sleep yet) I took two more sudafed.

It is now seven thirty in the morning the next day...I have not slept a wink. I don't think I will for awhile, either. Thankfully I am off today.

Do you think all the meds have done this to me? At least my symptoms aren't so bad anymore, so I'm gonna lay off for awhile.

Ephedrine is in Sudafed. I don't know about the others.
A while ago, they pulled all kids cold meds with pseudephedrine
in them. It would keep some folks awake. Try loads of water
instead, vitamins, zinc(Zicam) and rest.

Definitely the meds.. My grown DD gets SUPER wired when she takes anything like that..

A word of caution though - you really shouldn't take more of the meds before your time is up.. Many people make the mistake of thinking that because the drugs are non-prescription there's no dangers involved..

One time my best friends DD took a bunch of those meds that are supposed to keep you awake and alert No-Doze.. She totally flipped out, was seeing bugs crawling all over, etc., and had to be brought to the ER..

Well, it's nearly eight thirty, I'm still wide awake, though my eyes feel kinda tired.

I haven't taken any meds since 1 o'clock this morning. My heart is still beating a little faster than normal, and I have heartburn to boot.

Hope I can sleep soon. Right now I am just and .
