I'm super enjoying your Christmas trip! I'm just barely staying caught up on the DIS with all the traveling I've been doing, but really look forward to your updates.

Thanks so much! I'm really enjoying reliving it. And I'm almost up to our fabulous evening of dinner at Brown Derby and Toy Story Mania!! Definitely in my top 5 Disney moments EVER!!!!

I'm looking forward to hearing all about your travels!! :goodvibes

I’d like to introduce you to some of my neighbors at AKL. This was on the table to help me recognize who was who:

I didn’t need the cheat sheet to recognize these fellas:

I just noticed the netting on the tree... I wonder what that is for? Maybe eating the bark isn't good for them? :confused3

I almost didn’t see this guy hiding in the grass:

Can you tell I was a little giddy with the savannah view? I think I let out a little squeal and then I look over and there are some other folks out on another balcony. I’m sure they thought I was nuts!

You even get a little sheet with cute animal pics??? How great would that look in my scrapbook? ;)

Beautiful animals -- I could be wrong, but I think the netting is to protect the trees.

You can really tell the high level of care that Disney lavishes on their animals by those zebras' glossy coats.

Cute zebras for an early morning treat!

I think CP is right, the netting is to protect the trees, prevents the animals from munching on them.

Oh dear, more temptation for CP! :sad2:

The trees! Of course!

I'm no expert but the zebras looked happy to me!

Ah... the trees. I suppose those are important too. Makes sense. You don't see the netting at all without the zoom on the camera. They do everything so well! I like the hidden feed containers too!

The funny thing is, I've never really had a desire to stay there but after reading TR's and your lust for AKL I'm ready to book a stay.

When you are done with the Pink Carnation series, I have another series that's set in the 1920's in British-controlled Africa that will really make you want to stay at AKL.

Christine, I am waiting oh-so-patiently for your picture of the AKL wastebasket. :rotfl:

Wow I can't get over what an amazing view you had! Must of been amazing just to go out there and be on "safari". :hyper:

What a view...for me AKL would be like a piece of zoological heaven...great now I'm going to go price out what 3 days at AKL would cost me October...thanks C!!!

Yes those zebras look like very happy animals...kudos to Disney!!

I can't wait to see more...

Whoooo...CP now I like me some historical fiction set back during that time period...PM me about this book pretty please!!

Wow i fell behind! :sad1: Lots of great stuff i missed!!

The PODFest sounds really cool, and i love all your pictures!

SCORE on the SV room!! And a king bed?? Lots of pixie dust comeing your way!! Again, more great pictures!!

Can't wait for the TSM meet!! :cool1:

OK, now you are making me miss the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! :sad2: Isn't it such an awesome resort?! I think the savanna was my favorite part of staying there but sadly we didn't see a ton of animals. But I love all your pictures! And I definitely kept that animal guide that was in our room. :teeth:

That white marking really resembles a bullseye. Poor animal. :rotfl2:

I am ready to book a trip at AKL!

:rotfl2: I guess it does! Wonder if the animal kingdom sees the joke? :confused3

See, Christine! I am not the only one -- LL wants to go there, too! :rotfl:

Yikes- I'm causing all kinds of trouble. I definitely recommend staying here. But remember I also highly recommend the Beach Club!

Christmas seems like an especially nice time of year to stay there. The tree in the lobby was amazing and they had so many extra activities.

Christine, I am waiting oh-so-patiently for your picture of the AKL wastebasket. :rotfl:

 I'm not sure when I'll get to the next installment but it will be the room - can't believe I haven't even shown you guys that yet! :scared:

I was thinking the same thing, LL!!:rotfl2: That's just asking for trouble!!! Great pics Christine!!!

I agree- those markings are trouble! :rotfl: Thanks!!

It was very, very cool. And all the cooler b/c I wasn't expecting it.

What a view...for me AKL would be like a piece of zoological heaven...great now I'm going to go price out what 3 days at AKL would cost me October...thanks C!!!

So... have you priced out 3 days yet? :hyper:

No worries... glad you're back! All of the mousefest events were very fun. Thanks for the kudos on the pics. I can't wait to tell you all about the TSM event either!

It is an awesome resort. Although I think for me Beach Club ranks just a touch higher. The level of animal activity really seemed to depend on the time of day. It was generally pretty empty when I first woke up and got busier as the day wore on.

I am so jealous of your AKL view!! It totally makes me want to stay there!

Goodness... I am fueling Disney obsessions all over the place today. AKL was great. Definitely a thumbs up from me!

I know I'm a little late joining in but I'm enjoying the ride all the same. How fantastic to be bumped up to a savannah view.

Loved your pictures of the tree of life!
