Oh Come All Ye Faithful... DIS TR Addicts... UPDATE 4/19

Thanks so much! The Tree of Life is pretty great subject matter. If I can take these anyone can do it! If you haven't checked out those trails, you must in June! I thought of your family when I saw the bat... you and your bat poses!

I just had those pictures out today trying to figure out a layout for the scrapbook (I am kind of behind).

I have two possible days scheduled for AK this time -- I will definitely make a note about those trails.

Christine, thanks for sharing those AWESOME pics of the tree of life!! I knew there were trials but we never got the chance to wander them. Another for my "next time" list!

5 months and 4 days.... your ticker says! I'm so excited for you guys!

Thanks. The trails are really cool. That next time list is growing... :thumbsup2

Christine -

I finally linked to your trip report. For some reason I couldn't open the whole report today at work, just the individuals postings. We were there at the same time!!!!! I love your pre trip and have a lot of catching up to read the rest. So I'm gonna finish the dishes, get comfortable, and read more of your report. Plus - now I finally know who Monique Coleman is - High School Musical. No wonder I didn't know. I don't really get the HSM hype. I guess I'm showing my age! :rotfl:

Hi Christine!
I finally found your report! I could only find your report page by page, not continuous like this report. Haven't had the chance to read it all,but look forward to reading it!! What were the dates of your trip? :confused3

Happy New Year!!
Kristen:goodvibes

Awesome pics of the tree of life ..... I starting reading backwards. I've never even taken the time to see all those animals. It is now on my "must do" list.

I think I had something screwy with the link in my signature. Sorry! Hopefully it is fixed. Glad you're here! Really? We were there at the same time? Geez... I could have joined you at California Grill. ;)

Hi Kristen! Happy to have you here. Hopefully the link in my signature works now. Sorry 'bout that. I was there Dec 11-16. And weather went from literally a coat and gloves to bathing suit/swimming. But I loved it. Great trip. It took place during Mousefest so I had a chance to meet lots of awesome people and do some pretty special things! :thumbsup2

Thanks! You should definitely put it on your list! The detail is incredible!!

We were on the same path just minutes before you guys! In fact, we saw the group going onto the path over by the entrance to It's Tough to be a Bug! I probably saw you and didn't even know it.
I know what you mean about the bus stopping at Blizzard Beach. Ours stopped on the way home and we saw 3 cars. I was just thinking about the poor cast members that were working in the cold!
Great pictures!

That's right, we crossed paths....I was at Pop that week you were there. We were there the 7th-14th, but you already knew that since you're reading my report!:goodvibes Great report!!

Wow! Can't believe we almost met. Good thing we caught up later! On one of the days I saw a very large extended family heading into Blizzard Beach. I wondered to myself if they knew it was a water park... because otherwise they were nuts. Here's a tip... if you're at Disney and are pulling into a park and you're one of 5 cars in the lot... there's a problem!

Thanks. Too bad we weren't able to meet. There's always next time! :)

Thank you for the great pictures from DTD! I didn't make it over there during the evening this year so am happy to see the lights and decorations at night.

Cool photo shoot from the Tree of Life. The level of detail and artistry is one of the reasons I am mad for AK.

Those ToL Pics are amazing!!! Of course I'm partial to the Turtle and giraffe:rotfl2: I've seen the giraffe before, but not the turtle... I need to find him next trip!!

I can't wait to see more pic meet pics:thumbsup2

Happy to oblige! It was very pretty over there. Definitely put you in the shopping mood! My appreciation for AK is definitely growing. I don't really love the rides but I'm not a ride person anyway... and there is so much to explore! Definitely going back next time!!

Thanks so much! But... bad news... lots more pics but no more pic meet pics. That was the only photography meet I made it to. :sad2: If I go again next year, I'd definitely try to do more!

Wow, I love all your Tree of Life pictures! You did a great job!

I hope you didn't sign something that says you can't give me details how to find those paths...I'll be pming you the night before my trip to Animal Kingdom begging you for directions LOL!!

YOU took some amazing pictures Christine...I'm in awe!! Those pictures are simply gorgeous and it sounds like you had a lot of fun!!!!

 Nope. Didn't sign anything. But also didn't pay much attention -- just followed the leader. :confused3 One of the paths was off the entrance to It's a Bug's Life and the other was just an unmarked path around the corner -- across from a store, I think Outfitters? So the best advice I can give is to look for unmarked paths that look like they go nowhere and take them! And don't give up... because just when you think it's going nowhere you turn a corner and WOW!

Love all your Tree of Life pictures! Never really took the time to look for all the animals. :headache: I'm going to have to do that next time!

Thanks very much. AK certainly seems to be full of "hidden treasures." I'm really looking forward to going back and seeing what else I find.

So, I was reluctantly leaving the VERY cool Magic in Pixels meet at the Tree of Life in search of batteries for my camera and a bus to DHS to make my lunch ADR at Brown Derby. On my way out I snapped some shots of the AK Christmas tree. I love how each tree is so differently but perfectly themed.

Thankfully my transportation mojo was working and the bus to DHS was waiting as I was approaching. I was going to run but then the family behind me sent one of their young sons to run ahead to save the bus. :thumbsup2 Thanks! It was standing room only but that was fine with me! I’d much rather stand than wait for a bus!

And before you know it, we are arriving at DHS.

Light fixture for you know who

I had some time to go on Star Tours. I am a geek at heart. I always go right back to playing Star Wars as a kid in the back yard… I was older and we always made my little brother be Chewbacca! On my way out found a good light fixture on the side of Tattoine Traders for Miss LL.

I also took a “before” picture of the Streets of America in anticipation of the transformation with the Osborne Lights!

And then it was time for my ADR at Brown Derby. It was BUSY. A family came in asking to have lunch and the earliest they could seat them was 4pm! They did not like hearing that. There were also some Disney employees hoping to be seated and they were told the same thing. So no priority for Disney employees.

So I'm going to leave you there. Up next - lunch, the WDW Today party backstage and drinking around the world.
