Oh Come All Ye Faithful... DIS TR Addicts... UPDATE 4/19

Aww Christine!!! Merry Christmas to you too!!

I really love the light photos!! Did you take a tripod? Or did those photo meets just help w/ the nitetime P&S..... They Rock!

Merry Christmas, Christine! I am so glad that we have gotten to know each other! Thanks for that heaping dose of Disney Christmas Magic -- it was a perfect complement to this Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas, Christine! I'm so happy we've become friends. Thanks for the Disney Magic pictures!

Merry Christmas!

We were trying to make our way from DHS to the contemporary in that rain!! It was something!
Hope you have a magical day!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!!

It's been ultra fun and special getting to know you all, and I look forward to tons more fun in 2009 and 2010!

Beautiful pics Christine!! Can't wait to see more.

Merry christmas, hope Santa brought you something wonderful (like a Disney DVC resale :earsboy: )

Aw, shucks.

Thank you so much for the warm wishes! Merry Christmas to you too!:santa:

Hope you had a great holiday! I'm sure Santa was good to HRH? And to you, of course!

WOW...gorgeous pics I can't wait to hear more!!!!!!!

I'm staying at the POP on my solo trip...and I don't think I'll mind small because I'm by myself, just like you. However on my last trip we stayed with 4 adults in one room...cramped doesn't even begin to mention it LOL

I haven't really posted here as much as I would like, but Christine I have to totally thank you for your list at the beginning. I copied and pasted it and I'm taking it with me to the World on my trip. They were great tips that I really want to remember as I travel solo LOL!

I hope you also have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

4 adults in a Pop room! :scared1: I'm sure it will be great for your solo trip. I forget... are you requesting a certain building? I liked the 50's location.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you are enjoying it! The DIS is a source of great info, ideas and best of all, friendship! :goodvibes

I'm trying to remember. I think I put my camera (I have the same one LL does) on manual. Set it for a very slow shutter speed and held my breath while I took them. Didn't turn out too bad! I'm still learning about the camera so hopefully next trip (whenever that is :rolleyes1 ) the photos are even better!

Merry Christmas, Christine! I am so glad that we have gotten to know each other! Thanks for that heaping dose of Disney Christmas Magic -- it was a perfect complement to this Christmas Eve!

Me too, Jackie!! :goodvibes I'd ask what you got for Christmas but I already know. A camera and Nala... :lovestruc

Right back at ya, missy! :)

Merry Christmas!

It sure was something! I was thinking that afternoon that of all of my childhood trips to Disney and even my 2006 trip I never remembered it raining and then in both of my 08 trips I got downpours. Hopefully this is not a new trend. B/C I have to say I really hate the poncho!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!!

It's been ultra fun and special getting to know you all, and I look forward to tons more fun in 2009 and 2010!

Same here, Heather. I've loved meeting you on the DIS and even better in person in WDW!! Has Seattle managed to clean up from all the snow yet?

Beautiful pics Christine!! Can't wait to see more.

Thanks. I have ~850 more pictures to share. :rolleyes1 Santa was indeed good but no DVC resale. That may have to be a gift to myself. I'm still diligently reviewing the resales. In fact, saw a Beach Club resale with Sept use year today...:rolleyes1

I'm hoping for a TR update this weekend. :flower3:

Great pictures! I am looking forward to hearing more about your trip! Hope you had a great Christmas. :)

Hmm, if you are checking out resale contracts, can a purchase be far behind? :rolleyes1

I'm finally all caught up on your PTR/TR. Loving it all - great start to the TR too! I thought the same thing about the Pop rooms, very small, but it works, and saves on the budget. So sorry to hear about all the rain! Ick! I can't imagine working in the pouring rain like those lifeguards, was there anyone even in the pool?! You'd think they could go huddle in the locker room area and if some crazy person decided to go swimming during a monsoon, they could play rock/paper/scissors to determine who the sucker was that had to go work. ;)

I'm looking forward to more!! All your plans sounded so awesome, DH and I are pretty sure we are going to line up our dates with Mousefest in 2009, so this will be great research for me!

Thanks! My Christmas was great. Hope yours was too! And I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip as well and the amazing Beach Club resort!!

Hmm, if you are checking out resale contracts, can a purchase be far behind? :rolleyes1

I don't know. :confused3 I hope so! :)

Thanks. I think it must be a rule that the lifeguards stay out there. There was not a soul at the pool or anywhere near it -- other than dorky me taking the photo!

Mousefest 09? Well that is reason enough for me to go back! I'd love to meet you guys!! :)

Off to Everything Pop for some grub. Dashing in between the rain drops. I was hoping feverishly that I’d eat and then it would clear up and I could make some of the Mousefest meets scheduled for that evening. Looking at the sky, however, it would seem that was not in the cards. And beyond the rain, the wind was whipping like nobody’s business. Seriously, a weather channel reporter should have been doing a live remote b/c it was worthy of it! :sad2:

I made it to Everything Pop and headed straight back to the food court. I was glad I’d read this in another TR otherwise I’m not sure it would have occurred to me that this is where it would be. Lately I’ve tried to be pretty good with my food choices but on vacation all bets are off so I was all about the cheeseburger and fries. For whatever reason in Oct I hadn’t really done CS and/or hadn’t had a burger so this was my first experience with the wheat bun. Pfffft. :headache:

Those of you who have read along w/ me for a while know that I hardly need an excuse for an adult beverage. So between my general nature, the rain, annoyance at the Pop check in line and disappointment at not going to the Mousefest 101 meet I decided that a glass of wine was in order. To complement my cheeseburger. ;) So I got the wine, also picked up a refillable mug for good measure and headed to the register.

Of course I picked the wrong line (always do!) and was behind a guy who was signing over traveler’s checks! I didn’t know anyone still actually used those?? :confused3 So I finally get up there in line and the cashier takes a look at my wine and says “are you 21?” I figure he’s being kind and I just say “oh yes… and then some.” But then he squints at me a little and says “really? What year?” So I tell him and he’s still looking at me funny. This probably has more to do w/ the fact that my hair was up in a pony tail after all the rain and I looked like a drowned rat! So I say, “would it make you feel better if you saw my license?” and he says “yes” so I show him and he shrugs his shoulders and says “well, I guess it keeps you young!” That was a nice ego boost!

I found a relatively quiet spot and settled in w/ my meal. Not food porn worthy, sorry. But could there be a food porn worthy meal later in the trip?? Maybe meals?? :rolleyes1 The meal was fine (other than the stupid bun that keeps falling apart)- not spectacular. Definitely very convenient. After lunch I filled up my mug with the frozen coke (OMG- yummy!) and headed to shop around because it was now raining even harder!

While in there I saw the perfect gift for DIS’ers… a Mickey “mouse” --- Ha ha… get it? :lmao:

Is it wrong for a woman in her 30’s to fall in love with a fat Christmas Pluto?

Done shopping. Still raining. What to do? A DVC tour, of course! I head over to the DVC desk and catch the next tour… which unfortunately won’t be for a few hours. I know from glancing at my blackberry that some work stuff needs my attention so I figure better to take care of it while raining and head back to my room to log in while I wait for DVC….

Sorry for the boring update. It does get more exciting. And thankfully, less rainy!

I for one, really enjoy those Pop burgers. Yummy! Though the best one was from WL which is funny because they are probably the exact same. :lmao:

Stupid rain needs to go away so you can enjoy your trip!!

Oh, that was like magic! I posted my reply and realized there was a whole new update from you! :woohoo:

I missed out on the frozen Coke's at Pop - I have heard, many times, they are very tasty. During our late lunch there, the machine was down and the next morning I just wanted to escape the instanity of that food court. Sounds like you were there during a semi-sane time though, so that is good! I loved all the choices there, and I agree, very convienent.

I LOVE the Mickey "mouse"! Ooooh, I think I need that. And there is nothing wrong for anyone, of any age, to fall in love the the fat Plutos! They are adorable. :goodvibes

Great update! Thanks for the pictures of the shop! I love the decorations they come up with in Everything POP! It doesn't try to be anything but a shameless ploy to get us to buy Disney stuff. Like I really need a shameless ploy....

Awesome!! I would love to meet you as well! (and I'm happy to do some Disney trip enabling too...;))

That would be SO cool. Fingers crossed it works out!!

Really? Even the wheat bun?? I need the no nutritional value "wonder bread" bun! ;) I have heard that the burgers are all the same but I think they taste different from place to place. Think Pecos Bills w/ the fixings bar is still my favorite.

The mouse is cute. I wish I had bought it. I may have to call Disney shopping. They also had a memory stick.

2. you got IDed :)
3. frozen coke - YUM :lovestruc
4. mickey "mouse" :lmao:
5. DVC tour :woohoo:

Can't wait for more!

I'm all excited for you that he ID'd you  I wish I still got IDd!! See C being single has its advantages... you have no DH/kids making you prematurely gray...like me:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I can't wait to hear about the DVC tour... I want to know what you thought of the AKV BATHROOM:thumbsup2

Paula

Loved the tour of the Pop shop! You can fall in love with a fat Pluto since I fell in love with elf Eeyore...
The rain that day was hugely dramatic and very persistent.
Can't wait for the DVC report!
