We are taking the whole family around the beginning of December. Since we had planned on a summer trip and changed it, we were going to cancel our trip just hubby and I to the beach. Today our babysitters dad (who works with me and hubby at the hospital) offered to watch the kids overnight whenever we wanted :) So I started to think about doing Disney with DH even if we didnt really do the park the whole time... just 1 day base ticket. But the free dining is the reason we would go... that and ME so we wouldnt need to rent a car.

Well playing around with dates and resorts, we can do CBR for $634.44 for the free dining. Not bad for 8/31-9/3. Thats with a 1 day base ticket that we will upgrade down there for our trip in December to a 10day no exp. I just dont have the cash right now to include that and pay in full by 7/17. Then we will have tickets for us in December and just need tickets for the kids and my dad. And we can use the room only discounts that might come out.

Not bad! I am so excited! DH said to surprise him and just tell him the dates he needs off from work :) Yippee!

Can someone tell me what the cancellation/change of resort terms are?

Thank you! I priced out the trip to Siesta Key that we were going to take the same exact time frame and it was more.. since we would have to pay for food AND a rental car. So even if we dont do anything but lay around talk and swim... so what! We are in Disney! Plus, I will get to visit the other resorts to find our perfect one for our family stay!

If you cancel 44-6 days ahead of time you lose $100 and if you cancel 5-0 then you lose $200

Did you think about becoming an annual passholder? It's only $68 more than a ten day non-park-hopper pass and then you might be able to get a discount on the room for Sept and the one in Dec. You also get discounts for merchandise and some resturants. I know you have free food but you may want to go somewhere DTD that is not on the plan and you may be a discount there. Just a thought.

We use the water parks a lot with our stays... but not sure I want to upgrade all the way to a PAP! How much more is that?

have fun

DS & I will be there in Aug
then I return again in Nov
just returned from a solo trip in Apr

Yay! Have fun!

Hopefully we'll be going twice this year too. We planned a trip for August and the next day, after the flight was booked and everything, we won a trip from a radio station. So now we're going in November too.

I'm amazed that we haven't been there in 10 years and now we're going twice. Whoo-hoo!

Well I know hubby was looking foward to our beach trip... probably not another Disney trip ;) But when I tell him it is actually CHEAPER than where we were going, I think he will be okay with that! It is actually about $200 cheaper because of the free food and the ME vs renting a car!
