Oh brother, where art thou?

I agree. It's one of my favorite movies.

"Well, it didn't look like a two-horse town, but try finding a decent hair jelly."

Oh my! I love that movie! I played the soundtrack to my boys when they were in utero.

my DD was born in Oct 2001 .. we did the same, and after she was born, she'd stop crying as soon as she heard "Man of Constant Sorrow" or "You are my Sunshine". We called her our soggy bottom girl when she was a baby :)

After this movie came out on DVD I think my father watched it daily for about a year. It truly is a great film.

She r-u-n-n-o-f-t.

And I agree: "but you ain't bona fide!" and the "I am the paterfamilias!" are pretty dang funny.

Too funny! LOL!

Love the movie!

Tommy Johnson: I had to be up at that there crossroads last midnight, to sell my soul to the devil.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well, ain't it a small world, spiritually speaking. Pete and Delmar just been baptized and saved. I guess I'm the only one that remains unaffiliated.

LOVE this movie!

Delmar: Them syreens did this to Pete. They loved him up and turned him into a horny toad. :lmao: :rotfl:

This movie is utterly BRILLIANT. We've gotten more mileage out of the "toss off" lines...every time the kids have us about to go insane, we claim we're going to R-U-N-N-O-F-T!

And "we thought you was a toad"? You can't believe how truly versatile that's turned out to be!

"We thought... you wuz... a to-ad."

Hilarious movie. Gets funnier every time you watch it. If you've only seen it once it is a shame. If you've only seen it ten times you are doing yourself a disservice. I've you've seen it at least a dozen or more times you are on the right track.

"I slaughtered that horse last Tuesday... I'm afraid she's starting to turn."

"I forget - was it all the Worlsworth's or just the one?"

"He's a suiter!"

"He's bonafide."

"Excuse me, any of you fellas smithies or otherwise skilled in the metalurgic arts?"

"Why did you tell our daughters I got hit by a train?"
"Lots of respectable people have been hit by trains."

(and all the other quotes so far)

In my top 5 comedies for sure. And pretty good music to go with it.
