I could really use the support of my DIS friends. My dh is home for bedtime for the next few days, so we decided to try and make the tansition from cribs to toddler beds. Wish me luck, Im sad that they are grwoing so fast, and I am also scared of ruining a good thing (2 are great sleepers). So wish me luck that it goes better than I am anticipating. ps they will be 2 1/2 next month Thanks
Tara

update after 1 hour and 40 minutes my worst sleeper is asleep, my best sleeper is pretty close and my dd has now taken EVERY piece of clothing out of her dresser.

Good luck! I still have to sleep with my 7 year old, don't do what I did!:earseek:

Good luck! :hyper: If all goes well, you can give me some pointers. My DS, 3, usually sleeps with me when DH is at work. I've tried putting him in his own bed, then hear the pitter patter of little feet coming my way. :) I'm sure he'll outgrow it soon.

There for a second I thought that you and your DH were transitioning from cribs to toddler beds. :)

Good luck! My son was 3yo when he went into his toddler bed and I don't remember any real problems. The biggest issue we have is that he wakes up early many mornings and gets up instead of going back to sleep like he sometimes did in a crib.

Let me know if he does, my DD9 still creeps in with me some nights, when DH is at work!

my kids actually did much better in their big beds!

good luck!

Good Luck, my 2 year old sleeps with me and DH! Our 10 year old sleeps in the same room with us in his own twin bed (he slept with us until he was 8!:earseek: )

Let's just say that I have no need for BC pills at this point in time!:p

O.K. I am sure this will make you mad! Sorry! We have a dd that is 2 1/2 and was not yet 2 when we moved into our new house. Because her bedroom is big, we put a double bed along with the crib in her room. SHE WAS THE ONE THAT DECIDED SHE NEEDED TO SLEEP IN THE DOUBLE BED! I am still absolutely amazed by this fact. She goes to bed when she is tired, sometimes she tells us good night, sometimes not, she just simply disappears for a while and we have to go check her bed and see her piled up on top of her pillows fast asleep. She does not want anyone to sleep with her. My older dd's try to sleep with her on the weekends and she yells, MY ROOM, GET OUT! I think she is being watched by angels upstairs because not only does she sleep all night in her own bed, but when she wakes up in the morning, she will lay in bed about an hour before she even comes downstairs. This is a child that truely scares me with her behavier. I think she kind of knows that being child number 6, it is not even worth her time to try and get away with anything. If I could only get the other 5 to be as good as her!

LOL! DH is #6 of 7, and his sleeping behaviors growing up are identical!!!

We set up a twin bed in DD's room when I became pregnant with her little brother. We decided to let her make the transition timetable. She started about 4 days later with naps in her big girl bed, and then about 3 days after that was in it full-time. She was such a good sleeper, went to sleep easily, stayed in her bed all night.....

We even used the crib for timeout so she would begin to not like it, in attempts for preparing for when DS would be sleeping in it.

Then we had DS and now she sleeps with us a LOT! Coming into our room in the middle of the night mostly. I think it's a security issue surrounding the new baby.

A bonus is that she wasn't very cuddly before, and now she is!! :)

Sometimes we have her sleep on a blanket on the floor, sometimes I don't even know she's in bed with me.

They are only little once and even if they are 8, they are almost halfway to adulthood and we will be wishing for these days again!

Just put bunkbeds up for my 3 yr. old a few weeks ago...he loved it! Got up the next morning and after breakfast, he said "Night Mom" and went back to his bed. He also just goes in and lays down when he's tired. He always used to just drop on the floor when he got tired and sleep, now he heads for the bed. Thank Goodness!

Good Luck in getting your little ones to like their new beds!
