Oh Boy! Looks like a 2006 MYW discount is in the works

Room only discount.. Wow, that would be amazing. But lets just wait and see I guess.
Does anyone have any more particulars on this/these possible discounts? I remember prior to the fall discounts being released, a DISer (who is also a travel agent) gave out some info. that she was allowed to.

Thanks for backing me up! :)
not a problem! It was so funny....that PIN code was the first one I ever got, and I was SO excited, then they released the package to everyone. At first, I thought that the PIN code one might be somehow different, not sure how it would be different,LOL.... but I thought it would be different. it wasn't.

As for MLK day, I think overall WDW will be more crowded than we've all gotten used to. As we saw with the fall discount, rooms were not as plentiful as they had been with past discounts. And the discounts have not been as good. I still think MLK week will be a good time to go if you have to. IMO it's better than June!

I agree. We were very surprised with the crowd level 2 weeks ago. Much higher than in previous years, and that includes pre-2001. My January trip is going to be so different than any family vacation I've ever taken....I"m going with 12 teenagers :earseek:

This is the warm and fuzzy email details going around: REMEMBER THIS IS A PIN EMAIL--NOT A GENERAL CODE!

"Have a warm and fuzzy vacation. At a cozy little price.

6 nights / 7 days at Select Disney Value Resorts
US$433 per adult* based on adult double occupancy in a standard room
Most nights Jan 1 - 12 and Jan 16 - Feb 15, 2006
Room + Tickets + Park Hopper Option + Water Park Fun & More!**
And even better, add up to two kids in the same room for
$172 per child ages 3-9."

Does anyone know if this price includes tax????? And if not, how much extra (what percentage) is tax? Also, how much extra would it cost to upgrade these tickets offered to 10 myw with no expiration for an adult and a child?
Thanks,
Suzy V.

Oh my goodness - they need to hurry up and get these announcements out although we are most likely going in May so we would miss the discount

If a code does come out for Jan/Feb for a WDW package, can I book 3 people (1 adult, 2 kids (ages under 9)) and add an extra adult later for the same adult discounted price? Or would this jeordize me getting the discount? Or better yet, perhaps I should book it with two adults, 2 children and then can I cancel 1 adult if need be without losing the discount?
Reason: I am taking the two kids on my own this trip, but my mom may be joining us but due to illness in the family (my dad) I won't know until last minute if she can make the trip or not.

Any info. would be grreatly appreciated.
I am psyched about this possible discount. I honestly didn't think there would be one available for our vacation dates.
We are planning on staying at POP Dec 31 (no discount that night) and then POP Jan 1 -8 (value rate). If need be, I will stay at POP Dec 31 and then switch to any other value (preferably ASMu) the other nights. We are not planning on touring until Jan 1 so this works out perfect for us.
Can anyone tell I am EXCITED! Sorry for the rambling.
Suzy V.
Yes, you can book a discount package with only 3 in the room and then add someone later to your room with the discount. I would book 3 first, and then add another adult. Any time you change a package less than 45 days out from your vacation date you will be subject to a changing fee. If you change your package to a lower price (by taking an adult off), then you will be charged $50. But you can increase the package price (by adding another adult) for free. HTH, have fun!

I'm guessing that does not include the tax. I don't know how much tax would add. The tickets are taxed at 6.5% (I believe) and the rooms are taxed at 11.5% to 13% (somewhere around there). If the ticket included is a 7 day park hopper with the water park fun option then that would be about $285 (prepurchase with tax) for an adult and about $246 for a child. A 10 day non-expiring park hopper with the water park fun (it would have to be included since the original ticket had it) would be about $401 (prepurchase with tax) for an adult and about $360 for a child. So a difference of $116 per adult, and $114 per child (if I did my math correctly). HTH :flower:

That looks like a package offer and those usually include taxes. :flower:

O my goodness, you people are so great.
Thanks so much for all the info.

I asked my TA about this rumoured new package deal and she suspects that it's going to be similar to this pin code if not the same thing...

It was me!! I'm the one that posted on the other thread about 11/3 being a hopeful room only discount. The cm(a man) said to call back in the beg. of November. At the end of our conversation I said;"So I should call back the first week of Nov. to see if their are any room only discounts right"? He then replied," Call back Nov. 3rd". That's just what I was told. :goodvibes

Let's hope she's right - We're talking a difference of over $300 for me alone if she is!

Good! Then I wasn't out-of-line or crazy for posting the details of the email! BTW, love your username! :)

Tink, May I ask what resort category you were asking about (for room only discounts)? I am at POP Dec 31, Jan 1-8 and would be more then willing to switch values Jan 1-8 if a room only discount was only available at one or two values.

You should be fine. Lately, the discounts seem to be aimed at ALL of the value resorts mainly. Even the email said value resorts. The only problem I see is that the code might not begin until Jan 1. So you'd have to have a one night room only for December 31, in order to use the code.

Thanks for the info. I figured there was no way I could use it for Dec 31. Right now I have two ressies (1 for Dec 31 at holiday rack rate and the second at value rate with CAA discount Jan 1-8). I really want to see POP so we will stay there Dec 31 and stay at the resort most of that day, then we will stay wherever I can get a code for Jan 1-8. I have yet to see ASMu and I am hoping a code wil be available at that resort. Since it is not as popular as POP or ASMo, I really hope that a code will be available for Jan 1-8 there. But a little worried about the marathon weekend. I wonder if a code for that weekend (and a day or two before) will be available?

Thanks again for the info.
Suzy

Were there any PIN discounts for the delux resorts or only the value resorts? If so, what was the cost for delux? Thanks!

It might be tough, but you're totally on top of this, so I'm sure you'll call for the discount the day it's released. I think that will get you what you want. You seem to be open to the other values too, which is good. Keep that point of view and you be happy with what you get! :) The marathon might make things busier, but you are still going at a much slower time, so I think you'll have a better chance. Of course I sound like Miss Know-It-All when I really just know things, because I'm on these boards everyday! :teeth: But I really think you'll be okay!

OK, I haven't had my coffee yet, so be kind............ I'm confused!!!! ( what's new) Anyway, could someone answer my question.

I have a MYW package with dining and hoppers booked, and paid for, at AKL for Jan. 29 - Feb. 3, 2006. Would I be able to use this discount?? It says it's for the MYW package. I wouldn't be upset at all if I could save a little bit for other goodies!!

Thanks so much!!!

The PIN code deal looks like it is discounting tickets, not just the room. A 7-day premum advance purchase child is $246, but you can add children for $172, which is roughly the price of a 7-day base child ticket. So, either the ad copy of the PIN code is wrong, or WDW is giving away hopping/plus-packs.

I'm also guessing that, unlike the fall discount which had a single price regardless of which "season" it was, that the new deal will have different rates, because the pin code only covers value season so far.

But, I'm just guessing. Who the heck knows? Suddenly, November 3rd seems an awfully long way off! ;)
