What's to do there, or in th vicinity, besides walking the Marginal Way (which I love to do) and hitting the little shops and restaurants right around there?

love ogunquit, we go several times each summer:thumbsup2
when are you going?
kids or no?

Keep driving and go to Mount Desert Island instead- Some of the most gorgeous coastal scenery you will ever see- tons of shops in Bar Harbor- Acadia National Park- and the best lobster you will ever have at Thurstons Lobster Pound in Bernard!

April for 4 r 5 days. We do not have kids but there will be kids in the group. Alas, going elsewhere not really a choice because this is where the group has decided to go. I've been to Ogunquit, like it, wouldn't mind hanging out and doing the same things we kind of usually do....just wondering if I am missing anything else in the vicinity????

I would recommend a trip to FreePort if you have the time/ability. It is a cute little town and FULL of outlet stores!

Ogunquit is one of my favorite destinations. But it is a very relaxed place and there really isn't much to do, you have probably seen it all in your past visits.

For us, it is a time to escape the city and our busy lives. Ogunquit beach is three miles of heaven to us. We can walk and talk and breath and dream and just stop for a little while to marvel at the beauty of the ocean. Can't wait to get back there in April.

Enjoy your trip! :)

To me, Ogunquit is walking the Marginal Way, going in all the shops, walking the beach, sitting on a bench in front of Ben & Jerry's, relaxing w/family and friends.

Here are some other things to do:

Mini Golf at Wonder Mountain in Wells 207-646-9655
Golf at Cape Neddick Country Club (near Cliff House) 207-361-2011
Deep Sea Fishing on the Bunny Clark out of Perkins Cove 207-646-2214
See a play at the Ogunquit Playhouse 207-646-5511
Ride the Trolley for its entire loop at least once
Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge in Wells 207-646-9226
Eat at the Lobster Shack in Perkins Cove 207-646-2941

Have a great time!

There is so much to do, shops in Perkins Cove and Kennebunkport, Goldenrods in York, Nubble Lighthouse. I'm not sure if too much will be open in April. Definitely go on the beach. You could take a trip to LL Bean in Freeport or the Kittery Trading Post in Kittery. There are plenty of outlet stores at both. Eat at Mike's Clam Shack or if you like Chinese food East is really good, both are in Wells.

In April the problem is going to be that places might not be open. And it will be cold for the beach most likely. A day in Kittery at the outlets is great for adults and teens. Kennebunkport is a nice destination too.

Keep in mind that in Maine- April can be a "winter" month. Bring warm clothes!

Ogunquit Playhouse,
if you like lighthouses, there is a neat huge lighthouse store in Wells right on route 1
nubble light is beautiful and Fox's is right there with great food
i love perkins cove and all those neat little shops, don't know what is open in april though,
the outlets in Kittery or Freeport
there are cruises out of perkins cove, take you past nubble light i believe, not sure about april though
go to the spa up at the Cliff House :thumbsup2
there is also a new Cabelas up the road in Scarborough , right off rt 95 if you like that sort of thing.

We've been there in April and there is "enough" open, but not everything. We do usually go to York, take a stroll around the Nubble lighthouse. Freeport is a good idea...go to the big LL Bean store. We usually hit Kittery.

BLT Tinkerbelle....where's the trolley? That might be fun.
