I have stayed at the Hilton in the first link, closest hotel to DTD, was ok at $99 but seems to be always expensive now. Also stayed at Courtyard by Marriott in 2nd link, quite a walk, maybe 20 mins(not done it as we always have a car) but we love it here, going back for 25 nights in August another great rate of $48 inclusive.
there aren't any offsite close to WDW - that say - there are some kinda close to DD.
the disney downtown hotels are on Disney property - so although they aren't owned by Disney - I don't consider them offsite.
this area is called Lake Buena Vista
Sheraton Safari
Cypress Pointe
County Inn & suites
be aware that the Dolphin & swan are having a sale - so they might in the long run be cheaper (you won't need a car). but they are consider offsite hotels so no DME. I think they get EMH - not sure. www.hotelkingdom.com
now on the other side of Disney - near AK.
that is where Kissimmee is and there are several cheap places - however you will definitely need a car. Now some places you can go without one - but expect to waste a lot of time waiting on buses. You would better off with a car.
The ones closest to Disney are Gaylord Palms, Nick Hotel, Caribe Royale (and their sister hotel I think it is Buena Vista Suites), and Sheraton Safari. Those are the ones I know of. Then there is the DTD hotels.

I believe she was asking for not just walking distance but close to the parks. I wouldn't really consider any of the offsites walking distance to DTD. I think Walt wanted it that way. I wouldn't walk with my kids in tow unless I was staying at one of the DTD hotels. I was just trying to give the ones I knew of that were close. I know you can see DTD from the Nick Hotel and it was only less than 5 minutes driving time. I call that close. JMO.
Sheraton Vistana Resort is also VERY close. I walked home from DTD one night back before we had kids. We thought it was so much closer...it was quite a long walk after a long night of drinking. Even though it's a LONG walk, you can still walk if you have your beer goggles on! LOL...

No problem, I took it as OP asking for hotels in walking distance, but its funny how we all have different perspectives of close, 5 min drive for someone in US is close 5 min drive here in UK is the next town. within 45 minutes I can be at either west or East coast here. so 5 min dive is not local to us
