Not sure where to put this- but I guess it best goes with resorts. We are staying 8 nights, and well, we are sweaty people, not acclimated to Orlando weather/humidity. Rewearing clothing for DH and I, especially shirts, is just not an option, plus I like to change middday. Wellll, this equals, LOTS of laundry over 8 days. I am on vacation and I just don't want to spend ANY time sitting in a resort laundry room doing laundry, but I want clean clothes. I have looked into having it done/ sent out by the resorts at WDW and it is expensive- think price per shirt- eeek.

That got me to thinking, in college a lot of the guys sent their laundry out to a laundromat that offered wash and fold services-- not dry cleaning, but washing in washing machines. You paid by the pound for clothes- in other words- 10 pounds of dirty clothes at $3 a pound (for example- not sure what it costs) cost $30. It came back a day or so later, washed, dried, folded.

Anyone use a service like this while at WDW? I did a google search and found that this service does exist in Orlando and offers pick up-drop off of your clothes.

Here's one: http://www.americancleanersorlando.com/wash_and_fold.html

Anyone have any experience doing this while staying at a WDW resort?

OK, so that place is $1.50 a pound, 10 pound minimum- seems reasonable, but the woman on the phone said they don't pick up at the WDW resorts.... hmmmm, maybe she misunderstood me, or maybe they just don't. Anyhow. Any experience using a service like this that does pick up from the resorts????

I've never looked into that.... but I have been spoiled by the washer and dryer inside the 1 Bedroom Villas. Have you looked into renting points, Old Key West, or Saratoga Springs?? The space is really nice, and being able to throw your clothes in and not worry about them is great!!

LUV- yes I have, our last two trips were offsite at Marriott Vacation Club 2 br villas and I got spoiled with a washer and dryer. DH is adamant this trip that we stay onsite and NOT cook, clean, or do laundry- a true vacation for me :) I guess I am looking at a laundry service b/c I would like someone else to do my dirtywork for a week- lol.

Can't help on the laundry service but I can give a little experience. We always do laundry once or twice on our trips--sweaty people here too:rotfl2:--and it has not been an issue. DH (who actually does the laundry) considers it his quiet time ;) He reads his magazines or books without interruption from me or the kids. I noticed you are staying at CSR. The laundry rooms are right by the quiet pools so you can throw clothes into the washer, hang at the pool, transfer to dryer, hang at the pool, then fold-n-go...bring a few drinks with you and its almost a private party--LOL.

Yep, this is exactly what we do. Throw the laundry in, hit the pool, get out, change the laundry, get back in, fold the laundry, bring to room, go to park. Or we throw our clothes in, go have breakfast, come back and change the laundry, let the kids play in the arcade, fold the laundry, hit the park.

But, I have done as the pp said - use it as my quiet time. Grab a drink, a magazine, and lounge by the pool waiting for the laundry to be done. Takes little to no time....

I think the OP wants to have someone come to the resort and get the laundry, do everything then bring it back so absolutely no time is spent anywhere near a laundry room. Doesn't sound like there's a down time for doing laundry. Even if she does what the PPs suggest and hang a quiet pool, it's still down time, not time at the parks. I think what the OP wants is a place that will do her laundry for her - all of it. Including the pick up, the washing, the fluffing and folding, and delivery back.

OP - I think Disney would be your best bet since you know it will be done correctly.

there was a time when Disney did not allowed other companies to come onsite (it is Disney property). but for the DVC resorts that has definitely changed - you can order food from any place and there is no problem with it getting deliver.

so would call your resort and see if there would be a problem with an offsite laundry delivering - if Disney is not the problem. Call the place back and ask them why

Has anyone tried She Loves To Do Laundry? I have been searching for a wash, dry, and fold service while at WDW and came across this company that says it picks ups and delivers with 24 hour turn around. DH doesn't want me to spend a morning or afternoon doing laundry and we are going for a 9 night trip.

I hate doing laundry as much as anyone.

At Disney though, we ARE going to spend a few hours at the pool at some point.

It's usually painless to do a couple loads while at the pool without expending a whole lot of energy, especially if you have a mudslide, or a lemonball, or a tequila sunrise in your hand while doing it.

You are at Disney and you are likely spending a premium for EVERYTHING you are paying for.

Why do you have the idea that laundry is going to be the thing that you get for a dirt cheap price?

I wouldn't count on getting this service and this service only for like $3.

I don't think the OP does. She was using a "for example" and actually quoted a the price from an Orlando laundry company for $1.50/lb. I didn't get the impression that she was looking for cheap, just a company that would do it for less than Disney's $4 per shirt pricing. :confused3

Well, at least this company services "Disney area resorts".
