Thoughts anyone?

I'm incredibly disappointed that Universal haven't thought out of the box and done something different here to be honest. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the Fast & Furious films but anything else would have been preferable - I've seen so many suggestions for Back to the Future, Ghostbusters etc that would be much better.

The coaster enthusiast in me is thrilled about this.

The Theme Park fan in me feels like it's lame and sort of lazy to name it the exact same thing as the new coaster in Hollywood. Not to mention the name doesn't really fit considering the entrance will be in the New York section of the park (unless of course that's all going to change, too?).

Do I care about the Fast & Furious franchise? Not one bit. At the end of the day it's a new, awesome, outdoor steel roller coaster that will undoubtedly be a huge improvement over the coaster it's replacing. The coaster will be what makes it a great attraction regardless of whatever IP they chose to theme it after.

A coaster was rumored before they did the comedic failure of Supercharged, indeed many assumed they would be doing a coaster for Fast and Furious when it was announced the franchise was being added to the parks but then it was well what we got at Orlando.

So this news is not shocking in the least, it's what people have been wanting in Orlando for a long time (in lieu of what Supercharged was disappointingly of).

You've pretty much summed up how I feel about it, just a lot more eloquently. Looking forward to the coaster itself, but the theming is definitely a let down.

Looks intense! I"m glad Fast/ Furious will get a better ride. I've only seen a couple in the series, car movies not really my thing, but I like action movies. It's a huge franchise for Universal. I'm just glad it'll be a new coaster, and glad something will replace the other ridiculous FF experience.

Glad to see the old ride finally closed - and hopeful something good to replace it - I don't even do that ride as a joke.

As for the new coaster - no idea why they named it the same - it really will be a different coaster.

My hope is they well get rid of some of the other stuff in the area like Fallon - that was a one and done for me.
Thing is there is so much NY theming there as well as Ghost Busters so not sure what their plan, could have been "Fast and Furious NYC Drift" I'm pretty sure they have been to NYC, but I have never seen the movies. Looks like the 8th one was NYC.

Regardless of the name having a new coaster is the main thing.
Yes I would have preferred Ghost Busters or Back to the Future.
To me BTTF made more sense. With that long thin area to get to 88 miles per hour in the DeLorean would have been cool - and then the same to get back.

Worst kept secret in the theme park sphere.

Word on the street is that name is temporary.

Will definitely be interesting if they do change the name. I suppose from a merchandising standpoint it makes sense that they named it the same; they'll be able to sell the exact same stuff on both coasts.

I thought the same thing. I walked by the Hollywood version a couple months ago and it was truly cool how they incorporated it into the hillside there. In Orlando, it's just on flat land. Not that that's bad; Velocicoaster and Hagrid's are both on flat land. But it's clearly different.

I absolutely love this idea for Back to the Future and now want it to be real.

Looking forward to riding this coaster, the F&F theming has me hooked! Huge missed opportunity to not have made it Tokyo Drift themed haha

As a huge car guy, i hope the ride vehicles are going to be based off the famous cars from the movies (The R34 Skyline, 93-98 Supra, Eclipse, Veilside RX-7, Han's 350Z etc)
