Offsite People Visiting Onsite Guests?

We will be at POFQ for one night and then over to BWI for 8 nights. I have a friend who lives in the Orlando area and will be visiting us periodically throughout our stay. Can he just tell the guard he is visiting a guest and then he can come in the gate? Do I need to inform anyone of his visit? Thanks!

If it's busy, you may want to let the front desk know. Parking, especially in the lots adjacent to the parks can be tricky. Even by saying that they're just visiting may not get them past security. If you notify the front desk, they can have their names placed at the guard shack, or even issue a temporary parking pass.

AHA! I know thw answer! Yes, I get thrilled when I can actually answer someone's question! ahem...they need to tell the guard shack, "We are here to visit guest, "your name." I have people to visit me at WDW every visit.

I doubt this will be much of a problem at the BWI because many people who don't stay there stop by to tour the boardwalk area.

We were DVC owners at BWV for a few years and often had a friend who lived in Orlando stop by with her children. We never informed anyone in advance and they never had a problem.

Depending on the time of year, it actually does become a problem. There are those who visit the Boardwalk, but also many who use the parking lot for convenience to Epcot and not having to pay the fee. It can become an issue for those who are guests there to find a parking spot for themselves. There is an overflow lot across the street, so worst case, they would probably be directed there if they weren't on the guards list.

Technically, those not staying at BW are supposed to use the lot across the street, behind the Hess station. Sure, people get in all the time and are able to park in the guest lot. But, it's a good idea to leave your visitor's name with the front desk. That way they can let the guard shack know. I wouldn't want to have my friend turned away, and not know where to go. Better safe than sorry. My father was asked who he was visiting when he visited us. We had left his name at the front desk. When my ds dropped me off to checkin, we gave my friends name, who I would be staying with that first night.

On December 31, 2005 my family and I went to visit the Boardwalk during the afternoon and everyone who was not staying there was told to park in lot across the street behind the Hess and everyone was also given a 3 hour parking pass. I am not sure if guests with ADR's or guests going to ESPN Club were told to do the same thing if they were driving. If I had to guess I would say since that day was New Years Eve they were also told to park across the steet behind the Hess, since they wanted to limit the regular parking lots for guests staying at the Boardwalk.
