We have ressie's for Pop Century in July and are trying to help friends who are going to WDW at the same time find an offsite hotel close to WDW that offers decent and timely transportation to the parks.

Their budget is somewhat limited so they will need to find something in the economy to moderate range below the Pop rates.

Try bidding for travel.com for priceline information. Also check hotelkingdom. for offsite hotels that reasonable. Once found a hotel in your price range at hotelkingdom.com cross check with tripadvsior.com for hotel reviews. Also you can post the hotel on the dis board Orlando Attactions board get hotel reviews to. That's where all the offsite poeple hang out.

crazelion, tks for your reply. will check out Orlando Attractions on the board.

If money is an issue, then use Priceline and/or Hotwire. I prefer Hotwire because of its ease of use but eitherway you'll get a much better price than using other conventional sites.

I just have to say, I have yet to hear of an off-site hotel that offers timely and reliable transportation....your friends may wish to look into an inexpensive rental car if they wish to maximize their vacation time. They can try priceline or hotwire for a car, or check on mousesavers.com for some good discount codes.

Although I have never stayed here, I have heard good things about Comfort Suites Maingate. Goto www.tripadvisor.com , they compare about 5 different websites for your particular dates to get the best prices. When I looked for our trip in May, it was lass then $50 nite- including breakfast. :sunny:

We've used priceline to stretch our hotel budget. Go to biddingfortravel.com for information on what people are receiving for hotels. Read the FAQ and the people on the board will help you bid.

We used it for our March trip and got the Airport Hyatt for our fist night since our flight doesn't get in until after 10pm for a bid of $37.

People are getting the DTD hotels 3* (Best Western LBV) for $38. The DTD resorts 4* Hilton and Wyndham are coming up for around $60 and the Dolphin is coming up for $69/70 in June and July. The 2* LaQuinta Lake Side is coming up for $18 night.

thanks guys & gals for your replies. They were really looking forward to making the trip with us and staying onsite, which would really give them and their kids a real thrill.

This family has never been to wdw before and just wasn't expecting the costs. Our children are close friends with each other and play sports side by side in school as well as both our daughter and theirs are cheerleaders.

We have just today, solved the budget problem for them. My wife and i have given them, as a loan, the remaining funds that they may need in order to make the trip in disney style.

It is a very warm feeling when you see the excitement of the children and adult children as they enter the world where "Dreams come true".

Just wanted to say, Goof, how nice of you to offer the remaining money to them as a loan :) Keep us updated on your planning progress! I love to hear of families going for the very first time and of the children's excitement :)
