Offsite Hotels?

Hi :-)

Does anyone know of any cheap hotels (Formule 1 or similar) that are on a train route to DLP? Thinking of coming for a short break at the start of July as I have a complimentary Eurostar journey to take, and have an AP for park entry, but the price for even the Santa Fe is well above what I can afford at the moment. So I'm looking for a hotel that's easy to get to and from by the train, or even walking distance? Tried looking on the Formule 1 website but they don't mention proximity to a station - although the prices are much more up my street ;)

Thanks :-)

ibis, etap, premiere class all have hotels in the val d'europe area (the Ibis and Etap are at the exit of the val d'europe train station).

have a look on travelrepublic, expedia etc for other hotel options, just search for disneyland paris rooms and lots of offsite options will come up :).

None of the F1 hotels are near enough to transport to make it worth your while

Either look at Val d'Europe or you have Bussy St George or Torcy on RER A but I don't know if they will be a great difference with the Val d'Europe prices and your travel costs will be higher

I got the Ibis for under 60 Euros a night on Bastille Day weekend.

I stayed at the Etap in Val the Europe in March (price was only 45 Euro a night back then) and while it was basic it was a pleasant experiences. You're literally leaving the door of the train station and stand in front of the Ibis. You just have to walk around one corner and are at the Etap.

I had been at the Cheyenne earlier in March and if you include walking back to the room from the bus stop some nights I actually was in my room at the Etap quicker than back at the Cheyenne.

The Ibis and etap at Val D Europe are fantastic value, especially if you book through their website.

The Ibis is around £60 and the etap £55.

The Ibis only accepts 2 people per room, the etap can accommodate 3.

etap: http://www.etaphotel.com/gb/hotel-5047-etap-hotel-marne-la-vallee-val-d-europe/index.shtml

As Vala said, they're probably quicker to get back to than the Cheyenne and Santa Fe. Trains go every 15mins and the journey takes about 2mins. The trains are also far less crowded than the shuttle buses.

Happy Tappy - Don't mean to hijack the OP - but wondered if you can confirm if we need to pay for a train ticket each time we go to/from Val d'europe, or if there is a cheaper option (i.e. multiple journey ticket as you might get in London) - just thinking of the day we arrive and leave as we'll be collecting bags etc and making more than 1 trip a day. Thanks!

To my knowledge, there is no cheaper pass that would work well for a tourist. Maybe someone else (Carrie_Cat?) might know of some tickets that I don't.

You can buy a "carnet de tickets" which is like a book of ten tickets at newsagents. That turns out a little cheaper if you use them all. I only needed 6, so I just bought at the ticket machine.

There's a couple of Metro passes for tourists for Paris centre, but I couldn't find anything for RER and this trip.

Carnets work out about 20% cheaper depending on your journey.

I can't find any information on line (but I can go and ask this week if you like) about the price of a carnet between these 2 stops.

This type of carnet would either be bought at the ticket machine or at the counter in the RER station. The carnet you buy at newsagents are the Ticket T carnet which wouldn't work for this.

You could if you are under 26 get a Ticket Jeunes Week-end zones 3-5 at 4,25€ for the Sunday which would let you make unlimited trips and a carnet or single tickets for the other journeys

You also have a Mobilis pass for zones 1-5, this is a day ticket but it would work out dearer than the other options unless you wanted to go to Paris for the day as it costs 13,65€

last time I bought a carnet of tickets for the journey between val d'europe and marne la vallee it cost just over 12 euros for the 10 tickets.

Thanks for all your help - definitely going to book either the Ibis or Etap - can't wait to go back again!! x :dance3:

Thanks everyone- a carnet sounds like a good idea to save some park spending money! Well make over 10 journeys between us I think so worth it.

I checked the price of a carnet today and it's 13,20€ for the 10 tickets :)

It will go up on the 1st of July and I'll update when I know the new price but it won't be a huge increase

I have heard lots of good things on the Ibis, hope you have fun planning
