And... the walk goes right by several convenience stores so we can pick up snacks and drinks for the room and/or for the next day at the parks. The walk just works out really well!

Yes! We always pick up breakfast for the next morning on the walk back to the room - that way when you're headed out at like 6am for the 7am MM you already have something to eat with you.

I was very surprised to see HoJo's rates. About $300 per night. Same as Courtyard, but their rooms are much bigger. Of course, it beats paying $800 for Grand Californian.

We like the Sheraton Park. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk, but right across the street from the toy story lot so easy to take the bus if you don’t want to walk (we usually walk in the morning and take the bus back at night).

Wow, thanks for all the tips, everyone!! I think the Sheraton might be a little too far for my mom, but I will definitely look into all these suggestions.
