I've been to Disneyland twice, both times as a child. The first time we went we stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel and the Second at the Tropicana.

My Fiance and I are eloping at the end of next month :lovestruc and then going to Disneyland for our honeymoon. As much as I would LOVE to stay at the Disneyland Hotel (Grand Californian doesn't interest me) I'm thinking we are going to have to stay offsite. That being said can anyone recommend a hotel within walking distance (15 minutes give or take) that would be good to stay at? I know it's short notice as we're leaving on March 31 but if anyone has any idea I would greatly appreciate them.

Thanks in advance!!!

We were quite happy on our honeymoon in the Castle Inn but we are bigger fans of the Candy Cane Inn- it's nicer and comes with a good breakfast. :) Candy Cane is easily within your 15 minute range, but it also has a free shuttle.

I don't know much about offsite but wanted to wish you well and say "Congratulations!"

I would suggest the Candy Cane Inn's premium rooms. You get turn down service, breakfast brought to your room each morning, and a free shuttle to the parks. The hot tub is covered by the Gazebo and the flowers are very pretty.

It is less expensive to get a standard room, but you will have to send someone down to pick up the breakfast itmes.

Congratulations and Best Wishes on your upcoming marriage.

I'm a big fan of the Candy Cane, too. Although for a honeymoon, I'd look at a few other options as well.

There are some special rooms at both the Anabella and the Anaheim Sheraton that would be nice for a honeymoon. The Sheraton isn't really that walkable, but they do have a shuttle, or you could walk to the Disney parking structure and take the tram. The Anabella is a bit of a hike, but within your 15 minute range.

Another intriguing newer hotel is the Hotel Menage. Very modern/adult. I think you could walk to it in 15 minutes. You have to walk over the freeway, but there is a pedestrian lane on the bridge.

Congratulations, I would echo thoughts on CCI, a really pretty hotel and within your 15 minute walk distance. Rooms are a little small but fine for two people. If this is still a little out of your price range then maybe the Tropicanna, BWPPI or Carousel, they are closer and cheaper but very good hotels (we prefer them because they are closer, only 5 min walk to DL)

I've been debating the Menage but I'm not sure just based on the reviews I've read on here. However our situation is a bit different since we aren't travelling with any children (maybe next trip we'll need a stroller) and I think that most of what I've read is based on families with children. I will definetly check it out.

As much as I would like to stay at CCI it's completely booked, I am still working on FI to book the DLH just because it would "complete" the trip for me and he is a DL virgin so I want him to have the entire "experience", he thinks I'm a bit crazy about the whole Disney thing but he just can't fathom having never been :) The Tropicanna is booked as well and even though it's been 10 years since I stayed there I remember it being pretty good so that was an option.

Also, we will have a rental car since we will be in San Diego for a couple of days however, I have no intention of driving to the park.

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far, I appreciate it.

The Anabella has new concierge/premium rooms which include breakfast. It's on Katella, but you just walk towards Paradise Pier then cut through Grand Californian to DTD. It's a VERY pleasant walk, and as you walk under the foliage, the sidewalk is part of a big hidden Mickey (which amuses me).

Tell your FI to call the DLH directly to see what can be worked out. Sometimes, they have rates that you never know about unless you keep saying, "Is that the best rate you can do?" or "Are there any OTHER rates available?" or "Do you see any codes or special rates available for those dates?"

You have to keep asking, because they won't OFFER you the lower rates. They may also have something special because it's your honeymoon.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention in my previous post that the Sheraton PARK (used to be the Coast Anaheim) is another decent choice. It's about 5 minutes farther walk than the Candy Cane, on down Harbor.

You might also try the Carousel Inn. It's right next to Tropicana. They've got view suites that look over at the parks.

ETA: CONGRATULATIONS
