We are going to WDW next week Feb 11-18, staying offsite so not able to make any FP+ selections until we arrive at Park. Epcot on Thur 2/13. Do we go to kiosk first and make FP selections. OR, go directly from RD to Soarin to ride standby. Then to FP+ kiosk and try to get FP for Test Track for really anytime that day.

Tough call, but I would lean towards doing Soarin' standby immediately upon RD and then hitting up a kiosk to pick your three.

:welcome:

According to the green link in your signature, there are FP+ kiosks at Soarin', so when one gets to Soarin, one could take a look at the Standby Wait time and at the FP+ kiosk lines to decide which might be the better way to go.

I tend to agree that riding first would be best, because I can't imagine that Test Track FP+s would be unavailable at 9:30 or so (after riding Soarin').

That's good thinking, I almost made that suggestion myself. Now that you have, I second that motion. ;)

Wait, there's a green link in my signature? :rotfl2:

I agree with the ride Soarin' then as you come off the FP+ kiosks are in the old legacy FP area - hop in there and make your FP+ arrangements for the day.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't think about the kiosks outside of Soarin. How about the same strategy for the other Parks? Kind of difficult to know since I am an offsite guest and can not make any FP+ selections until I am in the Park.

MK - at RD hit Space Mtn, then a kiosk (though heard one near SM is crowded, so maybe go over to another less crowded area???)

AK - Mt Everest, then kiosk

HS - RR or TT??? first, probably RR.

I am just going by our favorite ride in each Park - get on it first, then worry about the rest.

I think I would take the same approach at any of the parks. Situation is just so new though, so I've yet to come to a conclusion reading other's experiences--there's just not enough of them.

Makes sense.

I've read that at MK, the kiosks in the Circus Tent are the least busy ones.

At HS, you aren't interested in Toy Story Mania? If you are, you should probably hit it first. Not sure that FP+ for it would be very available after you ride RR (agree that RR is likely to be busier than TT, but both are so close together it would be easy to glance at TT Wait time before heading into RR).

We're going to Epcot tomorrow and are going to ride Soarin then get FP+ (In our case it'll be a Soarin FP since we have 2 days Epcot and will do the same thing with TT on our second day). So I'll let you know how it goes!

Toy Story Mania - we go to Disney every few years, so last was around 2010. I do not remember Toy Story Mania. Kids are now boy-13; girl-16 so we hit the main rides but they still like seeing some of the shows and characters and parades/fireworks. So do I!!!

Epcot, if you could let me know how your day works out, I would appreciate it!

Thanks

Toy Story Mania is the most popular ride in all 4 of the parks, so you probably don't want to miss it this time.

It's a high-tech version of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

Yes - don't skip Toy Story. It was there in 2010 - not sure how you missed it. With the age of your kids, you don't want to miss it!!! Go there first!
