I'm looking for a recommendation for a good dinner buffet restaurant near Disney property. We're staying at Bonnet Creek, and the kids love eating at buffets. We all like seafood, but we're open to pretty much anything that is good value for the money.

Hey There! We'll also be staying at Bonnet Creek in February. We are actually going to try out Boma at the AK Lodge for dinner one night since I've heard such great things about it.

There is also the Cape May Clambake at the Beach Club that you could do.

You don't have to stay onsite to eat at the Disney restaurants. Not sure if you knew this or not.

I know the Disney restaurants can be pricey, but we have always loved the food and I'm kind of afraid to try one of the buffets you see along Rt. 192. At least until I hear someone rave about them.

We know you can eat at the onsite resorts, but we were hoping for something a little less expensive if possible. Although, Boma sounds yummy and is really tempting....

I know...it's definitely cheaper offsite for the most part.

The ones I've heard of but have never been to are:

Boston LobsterFeast
Sizzler Steakhouse
Ponderosa

You could probably do a search for Orlando buffets and then check the reviews on TripAdvisor.

Wish I could be more helpful! Have a great trip!

For a good comfort food type of entrees, Golden Corral is really good. My DH loves the bacon wrapped steak. I like the desserts - lots of cakes, pies, ice cream... When we have gone, they usually have a fish dish or two, fried chicken, pasta, all sorts of potatoes, salad bars, fruit, pizza... We like it. Don't pay full price though. There are coupons located in the coupon booklets right in their lobby and at other businesses. There is one right down the road from Bonnet Creek on 192.

I know you said dinner buffet, but I have to throw in a plug for Boma for breakfast. We just got back from a Christmas stay and loved Boma! ::yes::

I have always recommended the Golden Corral in Lake Buena Vista on SR 535 (very near Downtown Disney). We ate their twice on our last visit. The breakfast buffet was very, very good, but the night we ate dinner there wasn't very good at all. The dinner quality had definitely gone downhill since our last visit.

I think that the only way I can get my DH back to Disney is if I promise him that we will eat at BOMA. It is absolutely our FAVOURITE restaurant ever! We will probably eat there at least 3 times for our upcoming trip! The seafood 'soup' tastes like a Mediteranian Seafood Paella. I grew up with a chef that won North American Awards for his cooking and the seafood 'soup' at BOMA is the closest dish that we have tasted that compares to his cooking. Simply delicious! C'est tres magnifique! :thumbsup2

I would highly recommend the Golden Corral located at 7702 W. IRLO BRONSON HWY in Kissimmee. It just opened a few months ago so it's a very clean location and all their food is also very good.

Thanks! I just made a reservation at Boma for one dinner. I think we'll probably eat out at least one other night. We might try the new Golden Coral location. I've heard mixed reviews of GC, but I'm willing to try anything once. Sweet Tomatoes also gets good reviews on tripadvisor. It sounds like they don't have a whole lot beyond the salad bar, but that might work as long as DH has got his meat fix in elsewhere that day.

Sweet Tomatoes has different salads, pasta salads, soups, pizza, homemade mac n cheese, a few other hot pastas with different sauces, breads, baked potatoes, and desserts.

As for GC, we tried the one on 192 and found it to be way overpriced because they had seafood on the buffet.....low quality seafood. :crazy2:

We eat at Golden Corrals in other cities, but have had two bad experiences at this location. I'd hesitate to go back. After the first time, I wrote a letter and they sent us a certificate in apology. When we went back to use it, everything was just as bad, if not worse. The management left a lot to be desired.

That has been a few years, but we haven't been back.

Havent been in this area if a few years. Did they replace the one that used to be in that area?

Stay away from Ponderosa. We had a change of plans one night due to Sea World closing due to a thunderstorm, and since we have 7 in our family, that was the only place we could get into on International Dr. It was horrible! The food had absolutely no taste. If you don't have a Cici's pizza near your home, I hear there are a few near WDW. We have one in our town, and our kids just love it. The pizza is not the finest I've ever had, but there's so many varieties, plus salad, soup, pasta and desserts.

I definitely agree with that! It's horrible. We ate there a little over a year ago just because it was convenient. I had eaten there years before and didn't like it, but I thought that they had surely improved. Nope... :rolleyes2

I'd stay away from Pondegrossa and the Golden Corral. Sizzler is ok.

I LOVE Sweet Tomatoes and Cici's pizza! Sweet Tomatoes has a lot of soups and salad but also has some pasta dishes and pizza and yummy desserts including an ice cream station.

I really enjoy eating at Sweet Tomatoes. Everything is really fresh and they have a great selection of yummy and healthy items. Their salad bar is huge & constantly replenished, plus they offer a bunch of additional prepared salads. And, the homemade soups, potato bar, and fresh pastas are really tasty. DH especially likes the muffins and icecream bar. You can check out their daily menus ( http://www.souplantation.com/locati...d=72&store_name=Orlando_1_-_I_Drive_/_Kirkman ) and sign up on their website's Veg Club to receive free coupons via e-mail. My DH can't eat anything at GC b/c it really upsets his stomach.

Would anyone know how much Sweet Tomatoes costs? Would like to try it next month and trying to get a rough idea for budgeting.

Thanks!
