It is under a month until our trip to DL. I wondered about where to eat offsite that is walkable? It would be for myself and DS who is a very picky eater but will go with fries and chicken. DH can join us at night for dinner and also wanted a few good ideas. Mostly fast and inexpensive. Like Applebee's, etc.

We don't want any character dinners or specialty as we have WDW for free F&W in Sept.

Where are you staying? Harbor's walkable is Katella's long slog. :)

Anyway, this map isn't the best isn't absolutely updated, but I still use it anyway. :) YOu can see that on Harbor, you've got Mimi's (a Dis fave), Millie's (a my-family fave), McD's. Avoid Captain Kidd's like they have the plague. IHOP has been reported to be just about the most expensive IHOP people have seen.

I don't know anything about the others on Harbor, but down on Katella we enjoyed Coco's as well.

depending on where you eat, you can go to mini's and to milli's there very nice and pretty cheap!

Captain Kidd's will GIVE you the plague! lol Seriously, don't eat there or at IHOP, as Molly says it's the most $$$$$ IHOP I've ever been to. There are quite a few places to eat off site, if you let us know where you are staying we can give more ideas.

I recently dined at Mimi's locally in Las Vegas and received a $5.00 off breakfast coupon for our next dining visit. I'm thinking we'll use it at Mimi's in Anaheim. It will be at least a kids meal free. . .:goodvibes

Check it out . . .

Actually if you go to Mimi's website you can sign up to get a free breakfast. It expires pretty quickly tho so wait until just a few days before you leave to sign up.

We are staying at the Disneyland hotel. I heard there was a mall with a Cheesecake factory? That sounds good about now. What else? We don't have a car only public transportation and our feet.

Rainforest Cafe, hands down! The atmosphere is amazing, and right by the DL Hotel. The kids food is good (so my 6 year old says), they are kinda pricey, but worth it if you have never been there. Enjoy!:wizard:

We have been at the one in AK at WDW. Would this be a bit different? It was dark and noisy and DS didn't have a very nice time. Just wondering??? Where can we go for sit down but quick foods?

I'll second Cheesecake Factory (huge servings, you could share and have dessert!), Rainforest Cafe - really fun, and we like California Pizza Kitchen too! RC is at DTD and CF and CPK at the Garden Walk.

RFC is the same everywhere so if he didn't like it then he probably won't like it now. Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, CA Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump and a few other places are at the Anaheim Gardenwalk which is not too far from the DL resort. Down Harbor a bit farther, across from Target, you will find a Joe's Crab Shack, Outback Steakhouse & Red Robin. There are also other places on Harbor you can walk to but as suggested stay AWAY from the IHOP and Captain Kidd's.

Check out Anaheim Garden Walk. www.anaheimgardenwalk.com That's where you'll find The Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gumps, P. F.Changs, Calif. Pizza Kitchen, just to name a few.

I've heard they may even have a shuttle from DLR to AGW.

If you go, check out this website for some coupons anaheimoc.org. There's some there for RFC and Jazz Express (free beignets!) as well!:goodvibes

Thanks for the free Beigenets! We love them at French Quarter. It seems like I now have the list of exactly what we are looking for. Just consistently good food at a fair price and served within a reasonable time.

Joes, Pizza, Outback all on our list, thanks so much.

Also, California Pizza Kitchen does to go orders. We called ahead and picked it up and took it back to our hotel.

We really enjoy Millies and for a change Mimis, I agree skip the rest ick!

And we have been going down to DL for my lifetime and I never knew about Anaheim Garden Walk - thank you its a bit of a walk now that we became DVC member but nice to get out of the DL craze every now and then. Yeah right we never leave the park...HAHAH

The Gardenwalk just opened in the past couple of years so that's probably why you haven't heard of it. It's an outdoor mall with lots of yummy places to eat. :)

FWIW, we enjoy the Downtown Disney RFC much more than we like our local one. The local one is too small and the noise is absolutely overwhelming. Since the DTD one is bigger, two stories, with some open space, it's not *as* loud. And the food has been really good for us.

I know some disagree, but we found the Jazz Kitchen beignets to be nasty. I had that coupon, but we didn't even want free beignets from there, let alone having to buy something else, so we skipped it. (of course we forgot to get beignets from Cafe Orleans or fritters from Royal Street Veranda! an entirely fried dough free trip...sigh)
