Offsite Dining??

We're staying on site at the POP, but we'd like to go in town for dinner. Really don't want to go to far away. We were thinking of checking out Old Town again this year. Can anyone recommended some good, not expensive(with 3 kids) places to eat dinner. The DH would love a good buffet, but really we just wanted something really good for the money!!

There is a restaurant for every chain imaginable (and probably some you never heard of) in the vicinity of WDW. All along Route 192, both east and west of the entrance, you will find anything you want to eat.

On International Drive, there are places like "Sweet Tomatoes" that people here love. It's a fresh buffet and it's supposed to be good.

Something a bit fun is Kobe Steak House - food is cooked on a hibatchi grill in front of you. Not the cheapest food, but a bit of a show built in. Both my kids (2 and 6) love it.

If you want steak - Charlies Steakhouse in the same vicinity. Nice steak and I mean nice! A bit pricey but worth it!

Flippers Pizza is supposed to be some of the best pizza and there is one at Old Town.

Roadhouse Grill is also nearby. A diner style chain, but fun. They have peanuts that you shell and eat. The shells end up on the floor on purpose. Not good if you have a nut allergy, but fun for those who don't.

What is Smokey Bones??

Charley's is not really a 'kid' place but they do have kid meals. We did take our two (6 and 2) there. They enjoyed it too. It is white table cloths and napkins, so a bit on the higher end - but was THE best steaks we have had in the area. Key W Cools was good to, but Charleys topped them.

I do recommend taking things to keep your kids occupied (crayons, books, toys etc) as they don't provide anything.

And if you are travelling at a busy time of year, make a reservation.

Smokey Bones is BBQ. I just love good BBQ. I know its not for everyone but I really do enjoy it. They have a corn bread appetizer that is just yummie! You can take the kids here its a bit more relaxed than some places. I know Key W Kools has great steaks they are pricy but very good!

Oohh, that looks good, has a little of everything. Steak for DH, Ribs for DS(14) and chicken fingers on the kid menu for DD(9) and DS(5)
Wonder if they'd let me order off the kid menu!!

OOOhhh We liked Race Rock too! That is a great place for kids, however we were the kids! LOL Taking pictures etc.. I can say we tried Nascar Cafe at city walk and I was not impressed. We do like Margaretville's, I would also like to try Bubba Gumps there on our next trip!

I would bet at Smokey Bones they would let you order off the kids meal! The service we have had has been great! Our last trip we went 2 times to Smokey Bones! I like that they have curb side service as well if we are out running all over and just want to take it home call it in and pick it up! LOL

Ohh the pecan maple butter with the corn bread oh my!!! We don't have one of those chains around here but I sure wish we did!

Hi, I know it's been awhile, but I'm still trying to figure out everywhere we're going to eat and do and I'm really seriously thinking of this Smokey Bones, I've checked out the website and it has something for each of us. It looks so good!
For those of you that have ate here can you please tell me the price ranges so I can do some figuring. I can see their menu online, but no prices.

Thier prices are reasonable. My husband and I go there at least once if not more when we are there! I think the 2 of us can eat for around $45.00 with Ribs, drinks and appetizers.

We just went to Carrabbas on 192 this past week. It is an italian chain...similar to Olive Garden. It was our cheapest meal of the week for 5 of us!!! I think the bill came to about $60 and that was for 4 glasses of wine (2 for 1 happy hour special) 3 kids meals and 2 adults meals with one appetizer.

We always go here at least once every trip and have always had a great meal. Plus they give you the yummy bread with olive oil which I love.

We like Market Street in Celebration, they have excellent breakfast(s) as well as lunch/dinner menu's.
We are biased anyway to Celebration!
Good food/great atmosphere, great prices.
If you like Mexican food, homeade, no taco bell here=
Try Tijuana Flats
they have several locations.
College crowd-everyone. big portions, homeade, what could be better, plus inexpesive.
