Ok. So I have been reading and the offsite services are no longer allowed to do pickup/dropoff at FW- is that right? So you have to go pick them up yourself?

Tell me if I am right??

Thanks from this Fort Newbie.

Try here - so far he is still OK.

So far it seems only one off-site rental company has been told they can no longer deliver to the Fort - Golf Cart Enterprises. You can still rent from them if you like (they have 6 person carts which Tee Time and the Fort don't have) but you'll need to make other arrangements to get your cart. They do have a trailer they will rent you so you can come pick it up.

Kenny/Tee Time is still delivering without any trouble and many of us here have used him and can attest to his great service. :thumbsup2

From what I understand GCE got in trouble because he would show up with a big trailer and unload like 4 golf carts. I was always told in business and in life you don't bite the hand that feeds you......... And this is a prime example. If GCE was dropping carts off like that at one of my events I would have him kicked out. If you keep it low key as to not "try" and take business from me or any other business most people will let it slide.

We have several carts but opted to rent one this last trip we used Kenny he was great and easily droped off the cart in the overflow lot. Use Kenny he is great.

That's what some of us here have speculated, but I don't think anyone here really knows for sure what the issue is. We had carts reserved with GCE for November (we used them a year ago and they were great) and when all this happened shortly before we arrived 11/1 DH spoke with them. They never did tell him exactly what reason Disney gave them for why they could no longer deliver and he didn't push them on it.

FWIW we had 4 carts reserved and didn't have the ability to pick up all 4, so we ended up canceling our ressie with them and getting the carts from Tee Time instead.

When we were there our neighbors were having carts delivered. Not sure how the truck got into the resort itself, but they were there unloading 2 or 3 carts, blocking traffic and using our cabin's parking area to park their carts. We had to get out of our car and tell them to move them so we could get into our parking spot. There was a company van also being blocked by the offload and within a few minutes we saw a bunch of staff people pull up and talk to the neighbors. Not sure what they said, but we heard raised voices and then the neighbors ended up moving their cars and carts.

Ay yi yi!! It's just that kind of inconsiderate nonsense that's going to ruin it for the rest of us. :sad2:

Unfortunately it's going to be US that gets the shaft because of people like this, when Disney really does decide to make it a policy that off-site rentals aren't allowed... period. :headache:

If there were more than 2 carts and a good-sized truck, I'm betting this wasn't Kenny.

They unloaded at least 2 and there was already one there when we pulled up. It was a big flat bed trailer that could probably hold 3 maybe 4. It blocked the entire loop road, I didn't look close enough to see if it had a logo.

This happened last week when we were there, I think on Friday or Saturday. I was really surprised it got into the main drive. I would have thought it would have been stopped as it came in

Mmm... definitely not Kenny.

Well, they could have gone the route of putting the delivery guy on their reservation - which presumably should work. However if they do it this stupidly, then I won't be at all surprised if Disney puts the kibosh on that in short order. :sad2:

Srsly... just a wee bit of common sense ...is that so hard?? :(

This is really good to know. We wanted to rent a cart from Kenny for next year when we go to FW. I really hope that by next year he will still be allowed. I don't see why not since he delivers in the over flow. Who's to say it isn't a cart you brought yourself? Right? I don't know. I hope that other company doesn't ruin it for everyone else, but it sounds like Kenny is really smart about things.

Thanks everyone for sharing this info.

Well, that still remains to be seen. The problems Golf Cart Enterprises ran into were delivering to overflow. But they also show up with a big lettered truck too, and I'd bet that's been their downfall.

However I was telling DH about this and he said that when he talked to GCE before our November trip, they were not willing to have us put them on the ressie so that they could bring the carts in. The guy he talked to said that they didn't want to push their luck any further and wouldn't deliver any carts at all until/unless they worked something out with Disney. Remember that they're supplying carts to Disney for other events and it's definitely not in their best interest to mess up that relationship.

So.... unlikely this particular incident was them, although who knows. They could have changed their minds when all the rentals from Fort folks dried up. :confused3

Regardless - people doing dumb things like this WILL end up ruining it for the rest of us if it keeps up.

I got a quote from Tee Time Carts for $224.70 for a week, which includes deliver charges. I called Fort Wilderness and their rates go by the day no matter what and they do not offer weekly rates, though you can reserve them for a week. Their daily rate is $62.84. So multiply that by how many days you want the cart and that is your price. Pretty steep if you ask me! So lets hope they still will allow off site carts from at least Tee Time.

Does anyone have Kenny's number? We will be there in June and I hope we haven't waited too late.
