Hello all :cool1:

I am planning an August, 2007 trip for my family and most likely will be staying offsite. My family consists of myself, DH, DS 12, DD 9 and DS 5. I'd appreciate any recommendations for moderate-type accomodations with a decent pool and/or shuttle service?? Thanks for your input!!! :sunny:

Try www.vacationhomerentals.com, property # 467, we are staying 16-23 Dec for the total price of $512. We have stayed in these condos before and really liked them and have had no problems with anything. You can rent directly form the owners.
Hope this helps.

Windsor Hills Resort has a website where you can rent a condo, townhome with pool, or larger pool home directly from the owners. They do also offer shuttle service to the park, but you're better off renting a car. The resort is new in 2005 and 5 minutes / 2.1 miles from Disney!

I'm going to pop your thread down to the other Board:)

You'll get lots more help! :goodvibes

We've taken our 3 kids a handful of times to Disney. With 3 kids, we run into the "how to fit into one room" issue. Places we've used:

Holiday Inn Sunspree
Holiday Inn - Nick Hotel
Terra Verde resort

Places we've considered
Country Inn & Suites at Calypso Cay (they also have Amerisuites which usually means 2 beds and a sleeper sofa)
Caribe Royale

We're renting vrbo.com this time for a townhouse at Terra Verde for the space, nice pool, 3 bedrooms, washer/dryer and on and on.

As your planning takes shape - do you have an area in mind?

how do you feel about auctions?

www.skyauction.com

you are looking for a timeshares - 7 days - the extra fee (look in the ad) is $195 - not a hotel room.

I would go for a 2-bedroom.

Offsite generally do not have decent or even good shuttle services. You will need to rent a car or van. If this is a majority problem then stay onsite - DVC resorts 2-bedroom would fit your needs - but probably not your budget.
the all star suites is another choice.

if you get a good deal on skyauction then put the money saved to a van.

Would you stay at any of these places again?

Cypress Pointe is worth checking out. We book through Hotelkingdom which offers a great deal. We will be staying there again this January, at the Grande Villa section, in a two bedroom unit for $99.00 a night. After busy days at the parks we can't say enough about how nice it is to have extra space for everyone to unwind in at the end of the day. The location is awesome, very close to DTD and to many restaurants. We thought the pool was good, our kids seemed to enjoy it; here are the pools from both sections of the resort.
Good Luck on your decision. . .

ATOTTY: I would stay at the Nick Hotel, but it is more costly now that is Nick. I would consider the HI Sunspree again. Terra Verde is our upcoming trip, but I'm optimistic. The others on my short list I sure would consider - no problem.
