The only time we had a dining plan at WDW was back in the Food and Fun days. Once that went away we got the DDE card every year.

We always eat all of our meals at WDW and pay out of pocket.

I would always budget at least $300+ per day for food and snacks when my kid's were younger.

What's an OOP? :confused3

Out of pocket. :)

I have stayed onsite and cooked, stayed onsite and did the regular dining plan, and have stayed onsite and have done the QS dining plan.

I much prefer the regular dining plan. Our two times with the regular plan, it did save us money, but even if it didn't, I like knowing that basically everything is already paid for. I also like the regular plan over the QS plan because we like sitting down and being serviced once a day for a meal. The QS restaurants seem to have a lot of the same food, especially desserts, and I don't want to eat that twice a day.

I chose OOP meals.
Typically we hit Publix on the way in and grab breakfast stuff, pop tarts, single serving cereal, donuts. We do at least one TS breakfast though, either Akershus or Crystal Palace.
Lunch and dinner bounce back and forth for CS or TS. Typically dinner is table service but make exceptions for Cinderella's Royal Table, and a few other places.

We don't do the dining plan because we don't use the snack option and most of the time we don't order appetizers and desserts, it's just to much food.

We are foodies though, so meals are important. Our kids like to try new foods and disney is a perfect place for that.

OOP. DDP is just too much keeping track for me, and I doubt it would save us very much. We're two people and we like to eat what we like when we want it. DDP seems like too much work. :lmao:
