Officiant Question

Hello

So, Doug and I aren't religious in the least. For those of you that went a non-religious route, which officiant did you use? And were they okay with the lack of religious-ness? I've read good things about some of the Disney-approved options, but don't want to offend them by asking for a God-free ceremony

we had Rev Kevin Knox. And we didn't say out right that we wanted a God-less ceremony, but we removed any mention of God or religion from the ceremony samples that he gave us to choose from. Although, during the ceremony, he did slip and say something minor about god or prayer or something. I was in such a daze the whole time I don't remember exactly what it was. But it was minor, and although I noticed it, I don't think it was really that big of a deal. Although, pretty much everyone at the ceremony is Christian/Religious (we are buddhist), so I'm sure that they all thought it was supposed to be there. I don't think he would be offended in the least if you asked for a god-less ceremony. HTH!

I used Rev. Jack Day. He sent us several ceremonies that we could choose from or we could create our own. One was a civil ceremony without any mention of God. We chose to write our own (well, I pasted parts of ceremonies together that I liked) and there was absolutely nothing religious in the ceremony at all and Rev Jack didn't seem to mind at all and he didnt' add anything of his own either. He was so great!

While I am religious, There are things I don't want said in my vows! Most officiants really won't mind, just be honest with them!

Thanks, ladies! With Doug being an atheist, and me having more pagan leanings, it's just easier to not include religion. And now I'm off to the websites!
