***Officially Official September 2017 Thread***

Yeah, the more I looked at how you worded that I bet your friend heard about fort wilderness. They are shutting it down and refunding.

I read last night they also shuttered Vero Beach Resort as well which makes sense. They are probably having to refund this as well.

On hold now moving our first reservation. I can't imagine driving down there this Sunday.

Our second trip, leaving Sept 24, is still a go.

So my husband isn't going this month. But I am.

Edit to add:
We have moved our reservation to Jan. We lost our resort, but gained a couple of days.

We waited just 40 minutes, but we were calling Member Services, not Customer Service, since we are DVC.

Waited 4 hours on Wednesday, and was able to get through and push my trip back a few days. Was going to be there 9/9-9/15 and now will be arriving 9/13 and staying through 9/19. Fingers crossed the damage won't be too extensive. If so, I'll call and move my trip again. I'm so nervous for everyone in Florida right now. I've barely been able to sleep.

We just got home and I am catching up. So sorry for those who have had to cancel. I think you were in good company because it seemed to be getting pretty quiet when we left. I will keep my fingers crossed for everyone who is yet to travel this month!

Welcome back! So glad you got your trip in and retuned safely home!!

All Disney Parks, Disney Water Parks, Disney Springs and ESPN will be closed as of Sept. 9th at 9PM to Sept. 11th with the hope of reopening Tuesday Sept. 12th.

JetBlue just extended their traveling warnings to MCO through sept 17. Youncan change with no fee and no increase in fare.

I travel on 9/19 so time will tell...

I'm supposed to arrive on the 16th. Not sure what I should do.

I would see how Sunday/Monday goes and make a decision Monday night/Tuesday. It is a bit last minute but until we know what has happened its hard to tell what to do. I'm off work on the Tuesday so that when I will assess the situation and make changes if I need to.

Wait until Monday. Nobody knows how this will play out and how much damage there will be. You can make a decision on the 15th if you had to. We'll all know a lot more by Monday night.

Thanks. I guess I will just wait and see how this plays out. I feel so selfish worrying about my Disney trip when the people in Florida have SO much more to be worried about.

Yeah I totally understand. I can't reschedule mine, maybe push it back a day if needed - I can't take time off in November or December and I think October was filled with everyone else's holidays. Otherwise I'd have to cancel and look to go back maybe 2019 because I have trip plans next year. I have had the trip booked for nearly a year and its been 6 years to get to this point.

I'm defiantly thinking about those about to face Irma and those who have suffered already.

I was supposed to fly out tomorrow. My flight was cancelled by the travel agent and we cancelled this weekend's visit. Good luck to everyone else planning a later Disney trip this month.

Our son is evacuating tonight. He had to take care of things where he works and then will travel northward. I hope he goes far enough north! He lives in Fort Myers which is south of Orlando I think 2 hours. I pray for those folks who are unable to vacate. So many elderly live down there. It must be so scary to wait, knowing you're in Irma's path! I get a sense in this thread that it has gone WAY past being concerned for our trips and is more focused on those poor residents of the states Irma is heading toward and has been. Bless you all for having such caring hearts!
