I can't hold it in any longer; as of September 5th we closed and are officially DVC members with 200 points at the GFV. We took the tour back in November last year and had been pondering the thought of pulling the trigger since then. We really do love the GFV and decided that even though it cost more as well as not much out there in the resale market for the GFV, we went direct with Disney.
I thought of buying at less cost in another resort, but we went with the idea of "buy into the resort you really like" as opposed to getting more points at a lower cost. Also, being that I am 50 and my wife is "holding at 39" LOL, leaving it to our daughter (16) once our Disney days are over was important and with it expiring in 2064 that was big.
We are booked for our first visit next June at the GFV. It can't come soon enough.
