Official Wishes Dessert Party

We weren't able to book for our honeymoon last year - hopefully we can make up for it now!

Called a few minutes ago to make ressies for April 6 - had a fabulous CM who confirmed that they are not taking ressies yet. She advised me to call the Poly IPO and have them handle it for me. Sounds like a plan!
We leave in 8 days and this would just be the icing on the cake so to speak!!!

Poly IPO?

I just spoke with dining about a different ressie and asked about this. She said no details had been released (according to her supervisor) regarding the duration, but she said to call back later today and booking would be available..FWIW.

Did anyone know if you can view Spectro from here, too?

My CM knew nothing about it. Spent 10 minutes searching for it and shows nothing in his system.

can you watch the parade from the area as well? Is the seating all at one time? If not, is there a certain time you suggest reserving for?

We did this last year. You can sort of see the parade, but it's not a good view of it. If you are a big Spectro or MSEP fan, or will be seeing the night parade for the first time, I would see the parade on a night I was not doing the dessert party.

There is basically one seating. They let you check in for a wrist band 1/2 hour before seating, and let you in to get seated and start eating about one hour before the fireworks.

Of course it couuld all be different now that it's back, but that's how it was last year.

Does everyone stand up for the fireworks? My concern would be that we would get a table and everyone would stand and then my children wouldn't be able to see. Thanks!

I recall most peolpe standing at the rail for the fireworks. We did, but we could not have seen from our table, as it was pretty far back. I tried to stand where I was not blocking people who were able to stay seated at their table, so some stayed sitting.

I would not count on being able to sit through the fireworks, as it's likely your table will be too far away or other folks will be standing in front of your table.

Many do - the issue is that where the table where last year, many of the seats had obstructed views of the fireworks. What we saw happen is that slowly, people starting sitting or standing by the railings to "stake a spot" for the fireworks - there is enough room for everyone to do this, so it wasn't that big a deal, and those who had good spots for the fireworks didn't leave their seats - I'd say I started hanging out by the rail about 10-15 minutes before the fireworks.

hope this helps

Yes they will stand around the railing to get a better view. If everyone would sit in their seats and watch, everyone would be able to see.

When I went in August, the CMs did try to tell everyone that they couldn't stand around the railing but it was moot point. They did what they wanted anyways. We were sitting further down the end so when they tried to stand in front of us, we politely asked them to move to the side.

When we did this last year the tables were set off from the side of the seating area and everyone got up and walked over to the railing to watch the show. I stood for the first few minutes but went back to sit down as I was a little tired after doing all of the days activities, and I have to say I could see the show just fine from my table. Of course we had an outside (outer?) table. If you happen to have one of the inner tables your view may be blocked some by the roof.

This is held at the Noodle Station in the lower deck seating area next to the water.

Is it worth it? I mean I know there's no way my family of 4 will eat $100 worth of chocolate pudding. Is the view great? Is the service good? Do you get a reserved table? Or is it a bunch of people clammering all over the buffet and fighting for the best table only to be ogled by those on the "outside"...

Worth it? That is a very dangerous thing to ask as there are as many different opinions as there are posters. I thought it was great and would do again, while my wife thought it was nice but not a must do again.

They had reserved tables and they had much more than "chocolate pudding". It was a decent variety of deserts and they had coffe, hot chocolate, hot and cold tea, and water to choose from to drink.

The only time I saw anyone clammering was when the fireworks started and alot of the people made a dash for the railing. I was already there with DD looking at the water to keep her occupied. I went back to my table shortley there after and had a wonderful view from it.

Is it "worth it", probably not - but I'm going to do it again anyway! :rotfl2: the desserts were good, but you are correct, its not like you're going to eat $25.00 worth (although to get all of this at one of disney's candy stores..) One of the cool things about it was that it was not a bunch of people fighting for food - there was more than enough and fresh batches were quickly brought out when quantities ran low. The view is nice, but there arer better.

SO WHY GO BACK THEN? Its the sum of all the parts - I can't describe it other than its something "special" for my family to do - its not outrageously expensive and when I called my wife today and asked if she wanted me to try to get it again for our upcoming trip she said yes w/o any hesitation.

I have been checking this thread all day.... This is on our "to do" list for our trip!
