Official Wine & Dine 2014

I have a couple of questions about the runDisney tickets that I hope someone could help with. My friend and I have both talked with runDisney directly and have received conflicting information.

1. We have booked two rooms at Pop (for four women) through runDisney. We have not yet added park tickets. From this thread, I have read that if you add tickets to the room you will have to pick them up when you arrive at WDW and cannot make FP+ selections until you arrive and get your tickets. So should we all just purchase our tickets through runDisney now and add them to our MDE profile?

2. Can we add an extra day to the discounted runDisney park ticket when we are at WDW? (The reason I'm asking is that they seem similar to the youth educational tickets which cannot be upgraded). And if they can, it the bridging process similar to regular tickets (use tv ticket once and the discounted price will be adjusted to the regular price, and then pay the difference between the two?)

Wanted to update.on.booking fp+ during the 7-park close period of the finish line party.

We scheduled fp+...have 4 day armed forces salute tx and the finish line.party tx linked in MDE.

We were able to schedule fp+ on Saturday, Nov 8th for:

6-7: spaceship earth (hoping to use it in the 15 min grace period, if it expires we don't care).
7-8: mission space
8-9: test track

We aren't doing fp+ any other day at epcot, so between these and any riding we do during the party, we think we will get what we want to do all fit in.

Just wanted to put it out there for anyone.else attending the finish line party

1. I was one of the people that had problems with the tickets added to the room. When the tix are added to an existing room reservation, you get the same confirmation number as the hotel reservation (numbers and letters). You can't enter this info in MDE and have it recognize the tickets if you have already added your hotel reservation to MDE (I can't comment if the tickets and room were booked together from the first or if no information was added to MDE regarding the rooms before tix were added on). I didn't want to wait until getting to WDW to make my FP+ reservations so I cancelled the tickets from the room and bought them separately. I did have to pay for the tickets all up front but the confirmation number I received from the CM on the phone worked in MDE and allowed me to make my FP+ reservations at my 60 day mark.

Good luck! Hope this helped!

Had to do the same thing for my son. Worked like a charm and made my FP+ readies on time:)

As far as I know, rundisney tickets cannot be upgraded.

I bought my tickets through runD directly (had also heard of the package problem). I was told they could not be upgraded and were only valid during the two week period surrounding the race.

On my MDE they are listed as MYW 6 day hoppers (sports).

The thing I found strange though was that technically these tickets should be valid from 11/1-11/15. But I was able to make FP+ selections all through September (just practicing). So I'm not sure how they would come up in the system if you were to try an upgrade. Technically they should not have been valid to make September FP+ selections. You might want to give it a try! I may attempt to try myself - worst that can happen is they say no.

Hi everyone! Just got done with the Disneyland Half and am super exited for my next runDisney adventure.

I'm afraid I still have several loose ends to tie for this trip (yikes!). I haven't booked a flight TO florida yet from California (scared to see how much prices have gone up!). And I need to change my check-out date from Wednesday to Tuesday for Art of Animation. AND I still need to buy tickets for myself and my two friends that will be joining me (AND one more finish line party ticket... the site refunded me THREE times when I tried to get it before prices went up so I'm going to have to call someone and ask if I can get the $10 discount for the ticket :/).

Anyway! The reason I haven't gotten park tickets yet is because I'm still not sure how to get the most bang for my buck! I'm not sure if I should just go simple and buy direct from the normal site (Where I booked AoA) in case we want to upgrade add'l days. get the sports tix.

OR I also read that going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was really worth it (less crowd) so I'm wondering if I should just get that for Monday?

Is anyone else going to the Christmas Party? If so, how does it fit into your trip?

We are attending the 1st MVMCP on Friday the 7th. We are making that a MK day. Doing packet pick-up in the morning and spending the day and party there. If I didn't have an AP, I might take that as a relax/resort day after packet pick up and only go for the party.

Unless you're thinking of upgrading to an AP, check the prices of the regular site vs rundisney's W&D page. It's a good enough discount that I found if I got just a 3 day ticket it was as much as something like a 7 day ticket through disneyworld.com. If you're just thinking of having a longer trip, maybe just buy tickets for that longer stay through the W&D link. Might be cheaper overall.

I got that reversed. 3 day ticket through disneyworld.com was about as much as a 7 day ticket through the rundisney link.

Awesome! Thank you:) I'm definitely going to book a party day then with the morning being time to relax (or tour the resorts!) since they took out the extra magic hrs from magic kingdom on sunday :(

I wonder which will be less crowded. I wish there were a way to find out. I would think that a Monday would be but that's most likely the day all of the finishers would go. but Friday would be a lot of locals and APs I'm guessing. Ah I gotta make my decision soon. :hourglass

It is going to be a pretty short(er) trip (arrive thurday evening leave Tuesday morning). Thanks so much for the input. I'm definitely leaning toward the 3 day sports ticket + Christmas party (for Friday or Monday).

Monday (11/10) is historically one the lowest attendance days for MVMCP. Check out www.touringplans.com.

The Monday party will have fewer attendees. The Friday is the first, so there is a draw to be at the first party of the year. And not all of us runners can have a vacation that long. :)

Oh, perfect! Thank you so much for the tip I didn't think of checking Touring Plans. :) I'm getting really super excited now. I don't normally start celebrating Christmas this early what with so many of my close family and friends stigmatizing it being celebrated before thanksgiving but who cares.:santa: and that means up to midnight in the park! I'll take it!

I didn't realize Friday's was the first one, that definitely makes sense that it will be a bit more packed. That's true! Coming from California I thought everyone has to go for more than 3 days for it to be "worth it;" but not everyone has a flight expense! Thank you for the perspective - I'll definitely be more grateful that I was able to get 4 days off from work.:goodvibes

I AM SO EXCITED! I have to go find my Christmas green Minnie ears (and book a flight, buy party tickets, regular park tickets, and finish line party tickets etc...:rotfl: )

I am leaving on Nov. 10th so that will be 3 less ppl in parks and at MVMCP

We are also coming from Ca, so we want to make it worth it! We are planning on going to the MVMCP on Friday the 14th. I hope it's not too crowded! We arrive the 5th but will be cruising the Dream from the 10th-14th. We fly back to LAX the 15th.

Great 10+ mile long run today...Finally some cooler weather here for running...

Sure hope it is nice and cool for our race...

David

I hope it cools off too! I am in south Texas and it has been in the high 90s for months... With the cold snap today it's low 70s! Gonna go for a run when I get my kiddo to bed tonight :)

I had a great LR today too, thanks to the cooler weather! It was 30 degrees cooler than my last long run, and I added 1.5 miles in distance and knocked 1:20 off my average pace per mile!

Got to talk in person with my running buddy for this over a good period of time today (after we ran a 10K). Looked at the DME stuff, looked at rides, talked about MBs (I dislike the whole thing but it's always fun to see how excited newbies get over the whole thing), discussed onsite transportation, just the whole thing. YAY!
