Official Wine and Dine 2017 thread

My husband and I just registered for the Wine and Dine half (our first half!). Is there a common resort that people typically stay at or does that not matter?
The big draw during the time around the race is the food and wine festival at Epcot. So beach club and boardwalk would be the 2 most popular resorts.

Does anyone use any apps to prepare for a 10k they recommend? I like my phone telling me to run/ walk vs. timing myself.

Not sure what I was thinking but signed up for this less than a week after running the marathon lol. Did I not remember the pain?? Good thing it's "only" 19.3 miles instead of 39.3

Oh my gosh…I had to come here and share! I just signed up myself and DH for the two course challenge…EEEK! I'm so excited and nervous! I also made a reservation for The Poly for 5 nights!

SO I've only EVER done one race and it was to Star Wars 10K this past April. I felt great doing it and felt I could have kept going.

How will this be different from that race? And I have never done a half marathon but I have always wanted to! Time to start seriously training!

They didn't announce the changes last year until the original day of early signup. I am sure that many runners had already decided to run the race with the information that they had on the website with the evening race and after party. Once they made the changes many likely continued with their plans. This year, Run Disney had accurate information for the race being a morning race and runners can make an informed decision with this race being essentially the same as all other Disney races. I guess we will find out on Tuesday with how long it takes to fill the race.

Definitely. I do 2-3 (who am I kidding, 3) race weekends a year. This was the top one, now no longer. Night made it very special. People who like morning could pick quite literally any race weekend. Us night race lovers only had the one because they already took the other (RIP TOT). That said, I would do any night race - dark side was a big missed opportunity! So, for me, this is now a race of convenience since I like running and having a reason to train, and love food and wine and would go every year anyway. But that is the only draw really. So others passing does not shock me.

I can't speak specifically to the two races and their courses but since you'll be doing a half, be prepared to see more of the WDW's wonderful road system. Just by nature of the distance you might be on the roads more then in the parks.

Since I register tomorrow and need to enter a 10k on behalf of my hubby and a 5k on behalf of myself...which do you all think will sell out first (meaning, which should I submit first?)

My gut says to get the 10k in first and then the 5k next. Agree???

I'm tempted to have two windows open since we have two separate active accounts. Anyone think that is a good or a bad idea?

I signed my mom and I for the 10k during early registration at the same time. I registered myself on Safari and her on Firefox so I wouldn't get logged out. You have more than enough time to fill out all the info so as long as its in your cart you should be fine.

I'd guess 10k would go first. I tried to have the challenge and 5k open in different windows with the same browser and it wouldn't let me. Maybe 2 different ones would?

Does anyone have any details about the after party? Specifically, I am wondering what is included in the admission? Does it include food & wine? Seems obvious but maybe I shouldn't assume…

Thanks!

Any hints on what the theme will be for the 10K or the Two Course Challenge? People said they gave hints for princess with the Belle silhouette, however, for some reason I don't get RunDisney e-mails. I did Lumiere's Challenge specifically, because it was Lumiere. I'm curious if there have been any hints? Thanks :)

In case any APs/DVCs are still thinking about it, there are spots available on the AP/DVC registration page.

Haven't registered for a race since 2016 dark side... Does the regular registration link still usually get posted here in case it goes live early?

I'd like to know that and if the 5k is 100% going to be in Epcot
