Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Are there any resorts besides Yacht/Beach/Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk where the bus has to go to such a large number of resorts on one route? I'm at boardwalk and we are last on the route. All the busses this morning were full and never made it to us. The lady coordinating transport had to ask for them to send us our own special busses (she needed five empty to clear the backlog). Our first bus (that I saw, and I was in line at 3:30) was at 3:50 and it was one of the special ones requested. At the 5K we were getting maybe 4-5 people on each of the first few busses.

Anyway, just thinking forward to my next race weekend and where I should stay, because I don't think I'll come back here for another race weekend with five resorts on the runDisney bus route.

I was even thinking today they should maybe get people to nominate a property maybe when doing PoT so that they can get a good idea of what volume of runners they have at resorts to balance out the transport requirements.
Staying at Beach Club and also had issues with the bus service this morning. One bus comes a few minutes after 3:30 and maybe 20 people are able to get on. After that we didn't see another bus for 35 minutes! The volunteer called and asked for four buses- we got on the next bus that came so I don't know how long it took to clear the backlog. Hoping things run smoother tomorrow! I always laugh that I've had better bus service at the All Stars than at the Epcot resorts!

Do you know when Photopass pictures will be available? Assuming I go to MyDisneyPhotopass.com to view, but right now there is no place for the code.
Thanks, Ariel484, for all of your help this year!! Much appreciated!

I want to share a story I overheard this morning because it's a perfect example of why you should arrive early! (If these people are on the boards I'm sorry, I don't mean any harm!)

If I heard this correctly (it was really early lol) these 2 young woman had a flight from NJ at 6pm yesterday. Their flight was canceled and the next one was not for 6 hours. They made that flight, which had a layover in Tampa, but they JUST missed the connection. These 2 women ended up taking an Uber from Tampa and arrived at Disney at 2am. Somehow their moms were able to get their bibs at the expo on their behalf.

This is just like a cruise. Don't expect everything to work out perfectly!

Glad everyone had a good run this morning. Similar bus issues with Dolphin this am - buses were packed at 3:45am and seemed far and few according to those waiting earlier.

We converted our paper gift cards to plastic at Epcot guest services yesterday so we wouldn't worry about wet/crumpled email printout.

Remy photos before race were cutoff 5 min early and we only two people away from them after 45min wait. After the race they cut them off early again (about 20 min early) but then restarted line after many complaints. Got the photos but just a pain for an inaugural race main character photo.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow for the half - off to HS to catch the Star Wars fireworks tonight.

Running solo, but a friend came to spectate...is the only place she can watch the finish area? Any other ideas that are easy to travel to?

RunningPrince's girlfriend here, last year there wasn't a great place for spectators at the start, but we lined the grass behind the orange fencing (cast members directed about 20 of us). If they are fast, you'll need to run to the bus to Animal Kingdom to see the runners as they enter the park (after that you take a bus to Epcot for the finish) OR just go directly to Epcot bus. Its a long walk from the drop off to walk to the finish area. There are bleachers for spectators and plenty of people to direct you. Don't count on bus drivers to know where you are to go. The bleachers fill up fast. I just stood at the race finish last year. Maybe take a sweatshirt as it may be chilly waiting if there is a breeze.

@bellrae inthink the Epcot resorts share the most. I'm at the Polynesian and we share with the Grand Floridian and Shades of Green. When I stay at an Epcot resort I usually get off at the first resort stop and walk the rest of the way.

It is funny (not haha funny) to me that there was such trouble with the buses at the Boardwalk. I was worried about that here at All Stars and I even asked about it yesterday. I was thinking of walking over to Sports to make sure I got a spot on the first bus, but all three resorts had their own buses. Here at Music there were two before 3:30.

I'm at the Swan and we were on the first bus out. When our bus left the Swan - there were only like 15 of us on and we filled up at the Dolphin.

Pre run We were the second people in line when remmy and Emile went on their cheese break... only Emile came back out. Those pictures and our post race Donald and Goofy still haven't popped up in photopass also still waiting for official results which is killing me as with all my prior races I knew them within an hour of finishing (newbie don't know where to find them)
All and all it was smooth sailing (aside from the half mile I had to fly solo cause I was split from my buddy)

Good luck to the half and challenge peeps

Intersting about the bus issues between BC/YC/BWI/S&D. I stayed at BC in January for marathon weekend and didn't have any bus issues whatsoever. I wonder if they tried using less buses than WDW weekend because they thought it would be not as big?

I ran the 10k today - my first race since giving birth at the end of March (I registered for this race in the middle of an Obgyn appointment!) and I hadn't been able to keep to my training schedule since it turns out I have a super clingy baby who hates me being out of sight. But I did it! I thought the first three miles were pretty dull, but I had a great time once we got into Epcot. I met some lovely people on the course, and some not so lovely who encouraged me to move faster to pass them by!

I waited on line for an hour before the race to meet Lumiere, and just about managed to meet him at 5.25am before sprinting to my corral - and then not moving for 45 minutes! After the race I headed over to meet Remy and Emile at 7.45am only to be told that they were done and the line was closed. A lot of people complained since we'd been told they'd be there until 8.30am, and they ended up opening the line back up. I only had about 10 people in front of me, but there was a rush of people once they saw the line had opened back up.

My 3-year old ran the 100m dash and took it very seriously - the photos are so funny, he looks so determined! This was his last 100m dash since he turns 4 next month and will be running the 200m dash in January. His first 100m dash was when he was 13 months old and he was the last to cross the finish line - Mickey had to come and get him and walk with him!

Definitely dragging now after the 2.30am start and a day spent with a baby and a 3-year old, but we've had a great weekend! Best of luck to everyone running tomorrow!

It is 2:30am and there are six buses lined up outside of All Star Music.

Hope you all have a great run today!

RunDisney half marathon injury report:
OUT: DW. L foot

She thought about start and park but doesn't want to chance it. You may see her cheering at the finish

Sorry yo hear that. Glad she got to walk the 10k yesterday.

Got some decent sleep but I'm not sure what time my body actually thinks it is yet, midnight or 3am. I'm ready and glad today is finally here. Good luck everyone!

Thanks. It's for the best. Hope to see folks. Best to all.

I'm in a white visor white shirt, red shorts and red/white socks.

Plenty of buses at Pop! Will be walking due to my knee! Here's hoping I don't get swept!

Two buses waiting at the Beach Club this morning. Sounds like everyone is having much better luck getting on their way today. Good luck all!!
