I've wondered about Race Dots. I'll have to see if I order them would they deliver in time.Oooooh you did help me with one that I forgot - I use RaceDots for my bibs (FYI, you do get safety pins at the expo).
Thanks!!![]()
Thanks! Definitely adding bandaids and neosporan. I use the Dotetra Deep Blue Rub and it's already in my "packing room".I pack a lot too, here's a few I can remember that are different I think
- Nesquick chocolate milks (they don't have to be refrigerated)
- Tiger balm (&/or biofreeze)
- Vaseline
- Garbage bags (in case raining)
- mylar blankets
- hair items (pony tail holders, clips, bobby pins, etc)
- ear headband (in case it's freakishly windy/cold, which it shouldn't be but just in case)
- snacks & breakfast items - a few different things in case I'm just not feeling like plan A I can eat plan B
- Compression leg sleeves
- ace wraps (just in case something needs wrapped at some points)
-bandaids, gauze, alchole wipes, neosporine (hey you never know what can happen
They're sort of a pain to put in place but once you DO get them in place, they work pretty well.I've wondered about Race Dots. I'll have to see if I order them would they deliver in time.

While we always drive to WDW, when we've flown to Disneyland - we've just packed everything in the suitcase. I guess in the worst case - we would end up buying replacements at the expo from Fit2Run (where we buy our shoes at home anyway) and same goes for clothing or we could always go to a nearby mall.
We also fly in on Tuesday before the races so that should be amble time for an airline to try to fix the issue.

Have you found any tricks for putting them on? I love the concept and loved the Dots at first, but got tired of hassling with them and them sticking to themselves. I switched to an Amphipod race belt, but after it rubbed and pilled my favorite InB during the DLH I'm looking at revisiting the Race Dots.
I am considering these too, but that makes me nervous that they are hard to get on! But, I am forever trying to get the pins correct too. I wonder if they are still easier to get it straight?

I have to lay my shirt out on a bed and put the bib on with the dots BEFORE putting the shirt on. It's way too hard to put the shirt on first. Be very careful when moving the magnets around, they are so strong that they can pull on your shirt (I didn't realize this the first time I used them and ruined a shirt - also INBI am considering these too, but that makes me nervous that they are hard to get on! There's a nub on each dot and you line that up with the hole in the bib. If you line it up just right, it'll stay put.

@FFigawi may have more input - he's the one that recommended RaceDots to me.![]()

Congrats on your first half!!Hello running experts!
I need advice! I just completed my Galloway training after running my first half 9/24. I'm just not sure what to do until W&D? I've continued to run my short 3 mile runs Tues/Thurs but not sure what to do for my long on Sun? Last weekend I only ran 3 miles but what should I do this weekend? I ask because my IT band has been acting up (but not during the half thank goodness) and I don't want to jeopardize anything. I do have a 10K next Sunday 10/16, but nothing after that until Disney. Thanks for your help!
I'm having foot pain too. How long do you roll with the golf ball? How often? Do you put it on the floor and roll your foot around it or do you hold the ball in your hand against your foot? Thanks! I'm desperate here!!I was able to run with no foot/ankle pain today! I started rolling where my foot hurt with a golf ball last Thursday after not being able to run, so either that or the extra 3 days off helped. But I'm glad it's gone, now to just keep it gone.
Here's to hoping that everyone that has healed stays that way, that those that are healing continue and that no one does anything that needs to heal before the race![]()
Thank you! I wasn't sure if I should do 10-12 miles or not, but I will! We'll be arriving at Disney 10/31 so should I just run Tuesday and Thursday my regular 3-4 miles? Thank you again! I'm new at this and just learning as I go!Congrats on your first half!!
I think if it were me, I'd rest that IT band this week...maybe a short run this weekend, then your 10K on 10/16.
After that I'd do a run 10-12 miles on 10/22, 6-7 miles on 10/29, then it's Wine & Dine time! (So basically mimicking the last couple of weeks of Galloway's runDisney Wine & Dine plan.)
Basically I think you just want to maintain the fitness you have from your 9/24 half.![]()
