Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Yep got it, that was dumb of me to leave it in after I posted to take it out, oops;) Yeah I think you do have to be logged in, but I've heard of people using the AP links when people post them even if not logged in, who knows.

There have been reports from past races that RunDisney has cancelled registration of people who used the early registration links , but did not have an AP or were not DVC members.
Yeah, but it still takes away the few early spots even if they are kicked out later, so I figure better safe not posting it.

Good luck to those AP and DVC runners signing up today. I have decided not to do W&D this year as there is a half triathlon the following week I would like to participate in.

I received a link stating that they are holding a slot for me until April 5th.

For a limited time, we are temporarily reserving one (1) 2016 Wine & Dine Half Marathon race registration space in your name. To take advantage of this opportunity, simply click your custom link below between Noon EST, March 22, 2016 and 8:00pm EST, April 5, 2016.

Has anyone else received this? I'd prefer to just wait until the 1st to register than to do it today...

Nope! Was this a deferral, or did you win the rD lottery?!? :)

LOL... not a deferral. It said it was because of my "Perfect Runner Status". Don't see myself as perfect. Maybe "Practically Perfect"... ;)

Are you a legacy runner? (more than 5 years at the same event, ran all the rD events, etc?)

But good for you!

Brian

I've heard that too, and I hope it's true. Early registration should only be for those who qualify for it.

As the kids say...sorry not sorry! :teeth:

That might be it. I've always registered during the DVC window, so I've never noticed anything like this in the past. Would have saved me a lot of yelling at my monitor, lol

Ok folks... AP'ers.... I have an AP but don't have any email or anything inviting me to register early... anyone have an idea how this works? Can you get to early reg from the MDE site?

I can't get to the annual passholder page from MDE. Am I missing something? The link seems to be broken.

ETA: I can get it to come up in Chrome, but not Firefox or Explorer.

Ok, got it to come up but I can't find any mention of runDisney perks. Do you see them?

I never could either. I cheated and went straight to the rD site.

I know you can add certain packages during the registration. like jackets, shirts or spectator viewing. Can that be completed at a later time?

Anyone else notice in the email about training merchandise. Please, please let there be a Lumiere shirt!!!
OMG!!! YES please!! I am so pumped for all you DVC and AP holders to get registered today. Good Luck, and can't wait to hear about all the extras you discover :)

Alright, so I mentioned upthread that I read a post on Facebook where someone "illegally" registered for a race early - as in, they weren't an AP or DVC member and they registered early anyway. About a month later they got an email notifying them that Active was refunding their registration fee (and thus their registration was canceled), and by then it was too late for them to get into the race some other way.

Today I'm planning on registering my husband for the 10K - this is supposed to be legal since we're in the same household (I'm an AP, he is not)...but reading about this other registration getting canceled is making me nervous. I'm wondering how they figured out this person on Facebook wasn't an AP, because I really can't see them taking the time to go through and check every single registration. And they always have a question about "are you an Annual Passholder?" so is that what they use?

At any rate...I'm wondering if it would be safer to register Mr. Ariel484 next week. Congrats runDisney, you're officially driving me crazy!!

Ok, stupid question... any advantage to either DVC or AP registration over the other, if you are both? I just assume they come out of the same pool

Honestly, I would go for it. If it is legit, do it. If need be, and they cancel the registration, you can get him reinstated by runDisney later. Our kids aren't AP holders and we were able to register them with early registration. Same household.
