Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

The struggle is real this morning. I haven't had to run in the rain in awhile and it's making it still dark out though the sun should be coming out in the next 10 minutes or so. Not leaving the house until 7:30 but I really just want to crawl back into bed and sleep rather than do 4 miles.

ETA: The longer I sit here the more I don't want to go. I know it's always good to go out and do it anyway, but I also know if I feel like this it's not going to be a good run and it's better to not do it. I can always go this afternoon once the rain has stopped and I'm more awake.

Is it possible to walk from Swan / Dolphin to the Epcot parking lot before the parks open? Or do we have to pick up the bus from Boardwalk / Beach Club?

Thank You.

For the race you can't walk. For everyday park going you can walk to EPCOT from Swan/Dolphin but you enter at the International Gateway (World Showcase), not the parking lot.

Any takers on when we'll see bib #/coral assignment???

My guess...not until the first week of October at the earliest. :confused3
Yeah, last year it was around October 8th or so (I was looking at last year's thread recently). I believe we got bib numbers first through the results link when all that data was uploaded, and then waivers and corral breakdowns were posted a day or two later. Hopefully it's around the same time this year. It's hard to believe that that's just a few weeks from now. I am so anxious to find out. Same with getting the event guide (which I also hope is around the same time as waivers) since I'm dying to see the course maps!

I read a travel agent saying they had through 9/27 to sell bibs, so, 10/7 sounds like a good guess for stuff :) I'm anxious to see the course maps.

Got my running outfits all ready, basically I just stitch stuff to regular running clothes so it's not anything crazy (& one is a re-wear).

Did you end up getting out? I know the same feeling, but it's usually with heat and waiting for the sun to go down a bit. Still I believe that if you get out, even for a mile, it's still a benefit. Don't have to go as long, but just start at least. Personally I give myself a minimum of 2 miles, a goal, and then after that it depends nohow I feel.

I didn't and I knew once I didn't go that morning I wouldn't go again. My left foot that I had achilles issues with earlier in the summer is having plantar issues now so that was part of it too. I can't see to get it stretched out so it's not an issue so it's probably getting annoyed at my lack of arch support most days. I can't find shoes I like with arch support that I can wear to work. I'm willing to pay the higher price if I could find some that I like. Along with the ankle just feeling tight and not being able to get it loose. I'll have the chiropractor look at it later in the week when I go and I'll do my two maintenance runs this week and 11 Saturday.

AP here, too, and was ever so cranky about having to pay more for it to get "free" Memory Maker - I never, ever, ever pay for photos at WDW, race or otherwise. That said, it was kind of fun to have the Dark Side photos. Some of my photos were fantastic - perfectly timed, good exposure, nice angles - and others were iffy or lacking entirely.

Here's what I wonder for those who would need to pay OOP for MM: are you able to view them first to see if you'll even want enough to be worth it? I don't think I'd want to shell out $$ without knowing first if they got anything I'd want. I had a metric ton of shots from the 5K, for instance, but only a couple not-so-great ones from the half. Had I only run the half, I'd be unhappy to pay first and then find out how little there was, y'know?

Totally understand how foot pain/issues can get in the way of training as well.

Not sure what type of shoes you wear for work, but I found the Dr. Scholls active series- athletic insoles work great. I wear hiking shoes for work and they are the best additions. The only problem is that because they are red, my socks turn red on the bottom as well. I'm ok with that being the price though!

I wear flats since I'm in an office. I've tried a few options but I have really high arches so I can't find any insoles that aren't molded to my feet that are high enough to fill my arch. There's not room for ones from the running store. I just need Vionic to make flats I like. They have with sandals and flip flops, which is great to be able to wear, but their other shoes I don't like. They are getting better with younger and more trendy shoes though so maybe this year.

My days off for Thursday and Friday of race weekend were approved! I feel silly for my ranting post on Friday, but I really didn't feel good about it. But anyway, the plan to take the Thursday AM flight still stands. :) Now just to get the training motivation back. I've only done one run since my 10K on the 10th since I restarted my job and am not used to waking up to an alarm after being off all summer!

Awesome! So glad it worked out!

I take it it's too late to edit anything for the 10K? My time has improved since I registered and now I'm scared of starting way back and being pressed for time. I also would like to update my emergency contact.

It's too late for a time update, yes. I'm unsure if you can update your emergency contact though.

Editing closed in early August. I'm sure you can email them about updated your contact, or make a change at the expo. If nothing else, write that information on the back of your race bib! :)

Anyone want to talk running outfits. I got a little carried away and now I have three outfits for two races. Haha. I ordered the tanks off of etsy and the leggings from amazon.

First one is this tank. I have a running skirt, red with white polka dots to wear with this.

The second one is this tank. I have a yellow skirt from Sparkle Skirt to wear with this.

Then I had to have this tank because it made me laugh.

I bought these leggings which I will turn into shorts to go with it.

Maybe I need to find a way to run the 5k!
