Official Wii/DS Q/A thread. FAQ in first post! Game reviews in second post!

Has anyone asked about Wii Boogie??? :confused3

If NO: Any opinions?

If YES: Any idea which post?

THANKS!!!

Yes, it's repetative, and gets boring fast. It has gotten ho-hum reviews from many game sites and players in this thread....as for what post it's been asked many times and I can't tell ya a number to even look back to.

If you get it cheap it may be worth it, but anything over like $25.00 is too much for it.

as the DW said....she game a horrible review of Brunswick Pro Bowling.

Brunswick Pro Bowling Review

This Game plays NOTHING like wiisports bowling which is so far the ONLY bowling game on the wii worth owning (and you get it free with the system!)

The graphics are bad, it takes way to long to even attempt to learn, it's set up clumsily.

Once bowling, You set up the alignment and angle of the shot, your guy starts to move, but the movement is disconnected from the actual movement of the player's arm and motion of the Wiimote. (In other words it feels nothing like actually bowling!)

To it's credit it has a career mode, and it is fully liscensed. That said why would you want to play a game that doesn't play as well as the free game that came with the system?

In short...Take it back, get your $20.00 back, Buy yourself something to drink and a nice jucy cheeseburger, and have a fun game of bowling in that which is WiiSports!

I returned it this morning ,,

Is the AMF Bowling just as bad ?

DO NOT Use the Extended battery..and send back the screwdriver(send them both back!) As soon as you put in the battery you will have voided your warranty! So if anything happens you will be out a bunch of cash to fix it!

Just thought I'd warn you now.

Quoting to emphasize this.

Hopefully nothing will ever gone wrong with the DS, but the batteries are definitely NOT worth the risk.

Any chance you could add a "not recommended" section to the first post?

Great Idea! I'll make the wife add it to the FAQ Post!

Is the AMF Bowling just as bad ?

I have not played AMF...but from my understanding is that it is. Even worse if you are a lefty as there is no lefty/righty option according to those I have talked to and review I have read.(wii sports again has this option)

I actually and dubmfounded that both of the bowling games on the wii are not very good. Wiisports bowling is near flawless in how it plays(it just could use more options) Why companies are not simply copyign the playcontrol and adding in the other options(like career mode, liscense, tourneys, ect.) is beyond me. I'm a huge bowling nut and at this point I will only play Wiisports bowling.

Thanks so much for the review of the bowling again. After all the ho hum and bnad reviews im thinking ill go return it after xmas, (i already stuck it in the bag with all my other stuff to myself for my wii...LOL). Id rather spend $20 on something better and since you said the wii on eis better andi have played that one, theres no point.. I was kinda hoping it would be better since bowling was soo much fun on this thing.
I guess once i get it and hook it up we will see what i actually want to buy for it, i know the Crash game will be one of my firsts, any reviews on that? i really enjoy it on our ps1.

So that's what DS was doing! :)

I will have to ask my son if I can have one of the saves. After all, I did tell Grandma to buy it for him, and I helped him trap a rat.

Any suggestions for multi-player games with one card?

Are you looking for games where many people can play with DSs but only 1 game? OR games that multiple people can save their progress - sharing the same game?

Mario Party for DS is pretty fun and requires only 1 game but up to 4 DSs can link to it.

Puzzle Quest is another great game that we have been 'sharing'. I finished my game but DS is still playing his.

I know this is going to sound so bad coming from a deal scrounger like me, but if the DS dies, at least it's fairly cheap to replace. I figured that doing that sort of a replacement would have a cost attached....like voiding the warranty. There is nothing to say that she will want to go there, but for the price that I spent on the batteries and the screwdriver, I am willing to take the loss if she chooses not to use them. At the very least, I covered the base, if she wants to go there. Maggie

I fully understand Maggie...I've done this kind of thing before myself, I just thought I'd warn you as to the "cost" if she does do it. Not everyone realizes that this kind of thing has a "cost" to it. I guess I should have been more descriptive rather then yelling DO NOT at you! Sorry if I offended you.

I got a Wii today!!! Now to learn all about what we should get, etc.

We really lucked out. This was going to be my DF's surprise gift for Christmas, however when I saw them today I knew if I didn't go for it then I might not get one before Christmas. So we sit here tonight playing bowling. =o) Merry Early Christmas, hun...lol.

I have been checking everywhere, each store, each day, round 5-6am...it was getting tiring but it was worth it. Today we went to the mall thanks to a tip I read on the the Budget Board if regards to the Disney Store sale and I checked each and every place that might sell Wii's on the way out. Nope none here, we don't know when, etc. I checked the 2nd Game Stop we have and he said they had no idea when they would have one, etc so we left. I told my DF let me just check Radio Shack and Penny's just incase, I got the grumps "lets go, no one has one" but as I left Penny's I turned around to see the delivery guy rolling in a big cart of brown boxes. Off I ran, I saw two people infront of me in the store waiting and I asked if they were waiting on the Wii, both said "yes". The clerk said he didn't know yet but he came out of the back in smiles. Then he came back with 2...oh no! Then he asks if we are waiting for one too, YES! He has one more!!! So no surprise gift but we scored our Wii. The guy infront of me told me how he had many at home and was buying another to sell on ebay...=o(

So help... first major concern is the net. We have wireless BUT it requires a password when you get online through our apartment complex so I have no idea how to access it. Any ideas?

I have no idea if this is any good or not, stole this deal off of slickdeals. The title says "x 2" but it doesn't appear to include 2 mats so I'm not sure what the "x 2" means. Or maybe it does include 2, I just can't tell from the description.

Awesome BiL has a Wii. Is there a way I can purchase Virtual Console points for him as a holiday gift ?

They sell the wii points cards as holiday gifts, you can get them at best buy and such, i think its usually in 2000 points.

Sorry I should have clarified, as I was walking out of Jc Penny's I saw a shipment going into the Game Stop across from Jenny's and off I went.

Any need for the cooling station docks they are selling? I was looking at remote chargers, they have a cool one that holds your Wii and recharges 2 remotes. Supposidly it cools your Wii (has that led light on the bottom) at the same time.

I know I shouldnt let the fact it looks cool sway me into spending the extra $10, so does the Wii really need to be cooled or will the normal in the box wii stand be just as good?

Thanks!

Here's IGNs review. i havent' played it myself, so I can't add anything:

No! This is yet another weird attempt to make uninformed people waster their money! There is no need for a cooling station. :thumbsup2

Someone else got this, but yes. Just about every store that sells a Wii would sell Wii Points cards. they are usually 2000 points for $19.99 or $24.99.
